RESTRAINT SYSTEM
The embodiments described and claimed herein are a restraint system for securing a wheeled mobility device in a vehicle. In one embodiment, at least one restraint includes a hand-releasable connection to the vehicle. In other embodiments, the hand releasable connection is formed by a set of mounting details, where the mounting details include a headed stud received in a slot. In yet other embodiments, the hand releasable connection can be formed by a spring loaded locking pin that engages with a bore. In even further embodiments, the headed stud and spring loaded locking pin are coupled to the restraint, while the slot and bore are coupled to the floor of the vehicle.
Mobile Hyperbaric Hydrogen-Oxygen System
A mobile hyperbaric hydrogen-oxygen system is installed into a vehicle having a vehicle cabin and a passenger seat disposed therein. The mobile hyperbaric hydrogen-oxygen system includes a sealed gas container, a gas supplier for supplying a flow of hydrogen gas and a flow of oxygen gas, a supercharger for pressurizing the hydrogen gas and the oxygen gas therein so as to mix the hydrogen gas and the oxygen gas to form a mixed gas, an inhalation mask arranged for being disposed at the passenger seat in a hand-reachable distance, and an air pump operatively connected between the sealed gas container and the inhalation mask for delivering the mixed gas from the sealed gas container to the inhalation mask. Therefore, the passenger sitting at the passenger seat is able to wear the inhalation mask in order to inhale the mixed gas in a controllable manner.
Vehicle wheelchair lift
The present invention provides a compact wheelchair lift mechanism useable within a relatively small vehicle cabin space, such as a pickup truck with an extended cabin. The wheelchair lift includes a lateral actuator and a vertical actuator that cooperate to move a wheelchair support laterally in and out of a vehicle cabin and vertically between the cabin floor and the ground. The vehicle includes a lowered floor for expanding the vertical opening available to the lift, wheelchair, and vehicle occupant. The lift is positioned within the vehicle cabin such that no loss of seating capacity results from the installation of the lift.
In-floor vehicle ramp
A ramp system includes a base frame adapted to be mounted to a vehicle. First and second elongate track members are mounted to the base frame in generally parallel, spaced-apart relation so that they extend along a longitudinal direction. A trolley assembly is moveably mounted to the first and second elongate track members so that the trolley assembly is moveable along the longitudinal direction between retracted and extended positions. A ramp member is pivotally mounted to the trolley assembly. A support roller mounted to the base frame supports a portion of the ramp member. A handle assembly mounted to the ramp member allows a user to move the ramp member between the retracted and extended positions.
MEDICAL VEHICLE COMPRISING A COMPARTMENT WITH A MEDICAL IMAGING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A MEDICAL VEHICLE
The invention relates to a medical vehicle (1) comprising a compartment (2) with a medical imaging system (3), wherein the medical imaging system (3) comprises at least one system support sensor (4). The system support sensors (4) augment the vehicle's own sensors and/or replace equivalent sensors in the vehicle. The medical vehicle (1) is configured to obtain sensor readings from the at least one system support sensor (4) during operation of the medical vehicle (1), analyze the sensor readings and provide feedback based on the analyzed sensor readings. The invention further relates to a corresponding method for operating a medical vehicle (1).
LOADING ASSISTANCE DEVICE OF STRETCHER
The invention concerns a device for assisting in loading (1) a stretcher (2) on board a vehicle, said stretcher (2) extending longitudinally between a first and a second end, said device (1) comprising at least: a substantially elongated and tiltable guide means between a substantially horizontal position and an inclined position, a first support element designed to receive said stretcher (2) towards said first end, said first support element being mounted in translation relative to said guide means so that in the inclined position, said first support element can pass from a high position to a low position. Loading assistance devices of stretchers on board vehicles.
Retractor restraint sensor assembly and stop
A retractor with a sensor assembly, comprising an indicator element and a sensor assembly that generates a signal when the indicator element is within a detection range of the sensor, for detecting the length of withdrawn restraint. The indicator element can be located anywhere along the length of the restraint. In one implementation, the retractor is a motorized retractor and the location of the indicator element is selected whereby the sensor generates the signal when the restraint is nearly or fully withdrawn. In an alternative implementation, the retractor is a motorized retractor configured to winch a wheelchair into a wheelchair securement area of a vehicle and the location of the indicator element is selected whereby the sensor detects the indicator element when a wheelchair is in a desired securement position.
APPARATUS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR ENHANCING CONFIDENCE OF WHEELCHAIR SECUREMENT IN A VEHICLE
Apparatus, systems, and methods for sensing the status and configuration of various accessibility devices in a vehicle, monitoring and reporting the status and configuration of those accessibility devices, guiding a vehicle operator or attendant through the proper use of those accessibility devices, and identifying and reporting abnormal conditions based on feedback from those devices are provided herein. These systems provide enhanced securement confirmation for a vehicle operator and promote a safer riding experience for a mobility passenger.
