Sacroiliac joint exercise assistance device in lateral decubitus position
An exercise assist device transitively moves a sacroiliac joint in a lateral decubitus position. The following description is provided in the context of a left lateral decubitus position. The upper right leg is placed on a stand in the lateral decubitus position, and the upper right leg is then extended transitively backward with a sacral area supported by a sacrum support pad. Since a posterior side of a lower left sacroiliac joint is slightly opened, a sacrum slides backward via a right hip joint. This improves mobility of the lower left sacroiliac joint.
MASSAGE DEVICE FOR AN ARM OF A VEHICLE OCCUPANT
A massage device for an arm of a vehicle occupant includes a hand resting region having at least one moveable hand massaging element. The massage device also includes at least one forearm resting region with at least one moveable forearm massaging element and two lateral forearm support regions each with at least one moveable forearm massaging element.
LIMB COMPRESSION DEVICE
The present invention provides a limb compression device, including: a main body having a first surface where a support portion wrapping around a portion of a limb is provided, and a second surface where a fixing shaft fixing a cuff wrapping around a remaining portion of the limb is mounted; a drive motor coupled to the main body; a reduction gear unit coupled to a drive shaft of the drive motor; a cuff fixing drum fixing the cuff, and having a first end coupled to the reduction gear unit and a second end coupled to the main body such that the cuff fixing drum winds and unwinds the cuff; and the cuff including a first end fixed to the cuff fixing drum and a second end wound around the fixing shaft via the support portion of the main body so as to wrap around the remaining portion of the limb.
Tissue compression device with pressure indicator
Tissue compression devices having pressure indicators and methods of using the same. The tissue compression devices provide feedback to a user with respect to the pressure being applied to selected tissue at a selected location such as a radial artery to assist the user in applying the desired amount of pressure to the tissue (such as the pressure needed to achieve hemostasis at an access site). The pressure indication may be provided by a ring indicator that moves between two configurations (e.g., a concave configuration and a convex configuration), a bellow chamber in a housing, a bladder located below a bladder window, etc.
Mechanisms for pre-stretching electro-active polymers by a pre-determined amount and methods of use thereof
In some embodiments, the present invention is directed to an exemplary inventive method having steps of: providing at least one housing having a pre-determined physical structure; fixing a first edge of at least one electro-active polymer (EAP) film within the at least one housing; connecting a first edge of at least one pulling mechanism to a second edge of the at least one EAP film; where a second edge of the at least one pulling mechanism extends outside of the at least one housing; sufficiently pulling at the second edge of the at least one pulling mechanism to form at least one pre-stretched EAP film that has been stretched in a first axial direction within the at least one housing by a first pre-determined, pre-stretched amount; and where the pre-determined, pre-stretched amount is limited by the pre-determined physical structure of the housing.
GRADUATED PRESSURE APPLICATOR
A device applies a graduated pressure to an underlying surface. An exemplary device is a graduated compression device or a graduated pressure bandage, that is able to apply graduated pressure to a limb, with higher pressure being applied at one end of the device, e.g. near the ankle in use, and gradually applying less pressure at the other end of the device, e.g. such that the lowest pressure is applied to the end of the stocking closest to the thigh in use.
Cooling compression sleeve
A cooling compression sleeve device generally including three layers, a flexible bottom layer, a flexible middle layer, and a flexible top layer, and two voids, the first void substantially filled with a cooling agent and the second void including a selectively inflatable air bladder, which in its preferred form is portable, cleanable, reusable, and useful to provide cooling therapy to the limbs of humans or animals and particularly to the knee, shoulder, and elbow joints.
ARRANGEMENT FOR COMPRESSION TREATMENT, IN PARTICULAR COMPRESSION THERAPY ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD FOR OPERATING AND MONITORING THE SAME
Arrangement for compression sensing between two objects, preferably for compression treatment, in particular compression therapy arrangement, comprising a first object, e. f. a compression garment adapted to exert external pressure on a second object, e. g. a body portion and at least one sensor device associated with the first object and having at least one pressure sensor for determining the external pressure, wherein the pressure sensor comprises at least one pressure circuitry, having a sensing impedance which is dependent on the external pressure and at least one reference circuitry having a reference impedance which is essentially independent from the external pressure, wherein a cumulative signal which is dependent on the external pressure and other external influences acting in the vicinity of the sensing impedance is derivable from the pressure circuitry and a reference signal which is essentially independent from the external pressures but dependent on other external influences acting in the vicinity of the reference circuitry.
Massage machine
The massage machine includes a massage unit for treating a treatment target person, a first drive unit for driving the massage unit in a direction facing a treatment site of at least the treatment target person, and a control unit that controls driving of at least the first drive unit. The massage unit is configured to include a treatment unit in an articulated structure with at least two or more joints, and a second drive unit that drives the treatment unit in the direction facing the treatment target site of the treatment target person. The at least the two or more joints are shifted from each other in a direction intersecting a longitudinal direction of the treatment target site.
Orthosis for range of motion
In one aspect, an orthosis for increasing range of motion of a body joint generally includes first and second dynamic force mechanisms for simultaneously applying a dynamic force to body portions on opposite sides of a body joint.
