One or more of the modules can be reusable and the sorbent materials therein recharged.
TRACE AND LOW CONCENTRATION CO2 REMOVAL METHODS AND APPARATUS UTILIZING METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS
In general, this disclosure describes techniques for removing trace and low concentration CO.sub.2 from fluids using SIFSIX-n-M MOFs, wherein n is at least two and M is a metal. In some embodiments, the metal is zinc or copper. Embodiments include devices comprising SIFSIX-n-M MOFs for removing CO.sub.2 from fluids. In particular, embodiments relate to devices and methods utilizing SIFSIX-n-M MOFs for removing CO.sub.2 from fluids, wherein CO.sub.2 concentration is trace. Methods utilizing SIFSIX-n-M MOFs for removing CO.sub.2 from fluids can occur in confined spaces. SIFSIX-n-M MOFs can comprise bidentate organic ligands. In a specific embodiment, SIFSIX-n-M MOFs comprise pyrazine or dipryidilacetylene ligands.
Process for decontamination of hazardous sulfur compounds in oilfield produced waters
A system and method treat oilfield produced water by two-stages of hazardous sulfide treatments. In an embodiment, a two-stage oil and gas field produced water treatment system includes an oil removal vessel. The oilfield produced water is introduced to the oil removal vessel. The oil removal vessel removes a portion of the hydrocarbons from the oilfield produced water to provide a reduced oil produced water. In addition, the system includes an iron sponge. The reduced oil produced water is introduced to the iron sponge, and the iron sponge removes a portion of the hazardous sulfides from the reduced oil produced water to provide a reduced sulfide produced water. The system also includes a stabilized sodium percarbonate solution. The stabilized sodium percarbonate solution is mixed with the reduced sulfide produced water to remove a portion of the hazardous sulfides from the reduced sulfide produced water to provide a treated produced water.
Layered or mixed sorbent bed protective filtration device
A filtration device including a fluid-impermeable housing having a gas inlet and outlet, and containing within the housing first filter media particles of an extended surface area substrate and containing at least one metal impregnant, and second filter media particles of an extended surface area zirconium hydroxide substrate and containing zinc (hydr)oxide. The first or second filter media particles also contain an amine-functional material. The device may be used in atmospheres containing various harmful gases, and may provide particularly useful improvements in breakthrough times for nitrogen dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia and formaldehyde compared to a device containing only the first filter media particles or only the second filter media particles.
MULTIPLE MEMBRANE SEPARATION CAPSULE
A membrane capsule for biological and chemical separations comprising a cassette comprising an upper surface and a lower surface adjoined by a cassette sidewall, an inlet and an outlet located on the upper and lower surfaces of the cassette, tubes fluidly connected to the inlet and the outlet, holes or slots in the tubes to facilitate separation, and a membrane wrapped, pleated, and/or spiral wound around each of the tubes. Methods of separation comprising flowing fluid flow through the inlet of the membrane capsule, allowing the fluid to permeate through the holes or slots of the tubes, separating biological and/or non-biological substances, collecting the fluid within a reservoir, and draining fluid from the reservoir.
METHODS AND RELATED SYSTEMS FOR EXTRACTING ONE OR MORE CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS FROM CANNABIS PLANT MATERIAL
Methods for extracting one or more chemical compounds from cannabis plant material are provided. In some embodiments, the method may comprise: providing the cannabis plant material; extracting the cannabis plant material with a solvent to produce a solvent extract; and filtering the solvent extract through a filter material to produce a filtered extract. Also provided are related systems. Related cannabis extracts and products comprising cannabis extracts are also provided.
PROCESSING CARTRIDGE FOR PORTABLE DRUG TESTING SYSTEM
A cartridge for sample preparation includes an inlet configured to receive a collected sample, a phase transfer assembly including a plurality of bead layers, and an outlet. The collected sample is configured to be transferred through the bead layers of the phase transfer assembly to extract a compound therefrom. The outlet is configured to transfer the extracted compound to a detector for analysis of the extracted compound.
Hemocompatibility Modifiers For Cross-Linked Polymeric Material
The invention concerns methods of removing undesirable molecules from the blood or physiologic fluid; said method comprising contacting said blood or physiologic fluid with a sorbent, said sorbent comprising a plurality of solid forms and comprising a cross-linked polymeric material having a plurality of ligands attached to the surface of said cross-linked polymeric material, comprising (i) zwitterionic moieties, (ii) oligo(ethylene glycol) moieties or (iii) mixtures thereof; said contacting comprising said sorbent sorbing a plurality of said undesirable molecules when said sorbent is administered within a patient's body.
AUTOMATIC RECHARGER BRINE PREPARATION FROM A SALT CARTRIDGE
The disclosure relates to systems and methods for generating a brine solution using a salt cartridge for recharging zirconium phosphate in a reusable sorbent module. The salt cartridge can include an inlet and an outlet on opposite sides. Water can be pumped through the salt cartridge to dissolve the salts in the salt cartridge and the resulting solution can be collected as a brine solution for use in recharging the zirconium phosphate.
MXene Sorbent For Removal Of Small Molecules From Dialysate
The present disclosure is directed to methods for scrubbing low levels of urea from aqueous solutions such as a dialysate from dialysis, and including blood and blood products, and devices capable of employing these methods.
