Motion assistance apparatus
A motion assistance apparatus includes a waist frame configured to support a waist of a user, and a proximal support configured to support a proximal part of the user. A pressure applied to a thigh of the user by the proximal support in a sitting state in which the user is sitting may be greater than a pressure applied to the thigh of the user by the proximal support in a standing state in which the user is standing upright.
ANKLE EXOSKELETON SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ASSISTED MOBILITY AND REHABILITATION
A powered exoskeleton is designed to provide assistance to a user, where the powered exoskeleton may have power-generating elements in one location and power-applying elements in another location, so that a user can easily wear the powered exoskeleton.
SEMI-SUPERVISED INTENT RECOGNITION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A robotic system configured to, in response to a state transition intention input, change the robotic system from operating in a first mode with sensitivity to detecting state transitions at a first sensitivity level to operating temporarily in a second mode with sensitivity to detecting state transitions at a second sensitivity level that is more sensitive than the first sensitivity level. The state transition intention input indicates an intention to make a state transition from a first state to a second state, with the second state being possible from a plurality of possible different states.
Stair assist cane
A stair assist cane generally includes a handle, a first leg, a second leg, a first pair of feet, and a second pair of feet. The handle, first leg, and second leg are assembled to form a vertical plane when the cane is in use. The first pair of feet are disposed at a bottom end of the first leg and the second pair of feet are disposed at a bottom end of the second leg. The feet in the first pair of feet and second pair of feet laterally extend from the vertical plane in opposing directions to provide lateral support. The bottom end of the first leg is vertically offset in position relative to the bottom end of the second leg to permit the user to place each pair of feet on different stair steps to assist the user in ascending and descending stair steps.
SAFETY CONTROL FOR MOBILITY DEVICE
A mobility device configurable in a first walk configuration and a second stair-climb configuration, including a frame with movable front leg portions, a leg-actuation system connected to the front leg portions and a safety-control device mounted to the frame. The safety-control device includes a configuration selector, and a lever connected to the leg-actuation system and configured to actuate the cable actuation system so as to cause the first and second movable leg portions to move from a first position to a second position. The lever remains locked in a first lever position such that the lever cannot be moved unless the configuration selector is in a depressed position, thereby preventing inadvertent movement of the leg portion.
ORTHOTIC OR PROSTHETIC JOINT DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SAME
The invention relates to an orthotic or prosthetic joint device with an upper part and a lower part arranged in a hinged manner and fastening means for securing the joint device on a user, with at least one hydraulics unit between the upper part and the lower part, which hydraulics unit has a piston that is movable in a housing with an extension chamber and a flexion chamber and that is coupled to the upper part or the lower part, and which hydraulics unit is assigned a pressure supply device with a pump and a pressure accumulator via which the piston, controlled by a control device, is subjected to a pressure, wherein the pump can be operated in generator mode, the pressure accumulator can be coupled drivingly to the pump, and the hydraulic fluid can be conveyed by the pressure accumulator through the pump to the hydraulics unit.
Track and lift rehabilitation systems and related methods
A system for physical rehabilitation is disclosed. The system may comprise a plurality of motors configured to be coupled to a ceiling; a plurality of cable portions, wherein each cable portion is connected at a first end to a motor and connected at a second end to a connector element; and a controller in operative communication with the plurality of motors to move the connector element in relation to a staircase.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING INFORMATION TO A USER
A method for providing information to a user, preferably including: determining environmental information; determining a set of features based on the information; determining output parameters based on the features; and controlling a sensory output system to generate outputs based on the output parameters. A sensory output device, preferably including a plurality of sensory output actuators. A system for providing information to a user, preferably including one or more: sensory output devices, sensors, and computing systems.
Assistive mobility devices and systems and methods for using same
Disclosed herein are self-adjusting devices and systems for assistive ambulation and traversing of stairs. In one aspect, a disclosed assistive device encompasses a frame assembly including a first side frame connected with a second side frame, each side frame with first and second legs each having first and second opposed ends, and a gripping member connecting first ends of the first and second legs, the second ends of first and second legs having an extendable portion configured to allow selective adjustment of a leg length; and a leg adjustment system contained within a portion of each side frame configured to correspondingly lengthen one leg at a leg length adjustment ratio in response to shortening of another leg. In further aspects, the legs can releasably attach to a stabilizing component for stabilizing the device. Also disclosed herein are kits and methods for using the disclosed devices and systems.
