PREACTIVATED CATALYST COMPONENT FOR THE POLYMERIZATION OF OLEFINS
A process for the preparation of pre-activated or pre-polymerized catalysts made from or containing a solid catalyst component made from or containing Ti, Mg, and halogen is disclosed. The resulting catalyst is protected from the release of flammable gases in contact with water. The process includes the steps of (a) a reaction step for yielding a catalyst precursor; (b) a reaction step in which the catalyst precursor is reacted with an organoaluminum compound for yielding a modified-catalyst precursor; (c) a treatment step in which the modified-catalyst precursor is treated with a mono or polychlorinated compound, thereby yielding the solid catalyst component; and (d) isolating and recovering the solid catalyst component.
HIGH-PROCESSABILITY HIGH-DENSITY ETHYLENE-BASED POLYMER USING HYBRID SUPPORTED METALLOCENE CATALYST, AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
The present invention relates to a high-density ethylene-based polymer comprising an ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and at least one comonomer selected from the group consisting of an -olefin, a cyclic olefin, and a straight, branched and cyclic diene. According to the present invention, the high-density polyethylene resin has a wide molecular weight distribution and excellent comonomer distribution characteristics, has excellent melt flowability due to a long chain branched structure, and has excellent mechanical characteristics since the comonomer distribution is concentrated in a high-molecular-weight body. The high-density ethylene polymer of the present invention has excellent molding processability during processing such as extrusion, compression, injection and rotational molding by having excellent mechanical characteristics and melt flowability.
Aqueous methods for titanating a chromium/silica catalyst
Methods for synthesizing a water-soluble titanium-silicon complex are disclosed herein. The titanium-silicon complex can be utilized to produce titanated solid oxide supports and titanated chromium supported catalysts. The titanated chromium supported catalysts subsequently can be used to polymerize olefins to produce, for example, ethylene based homopolymer and copolymers.
