11470929 · 2022-10-18 ·

A kit for converting a crutch to a cane, table, or bench is disclosed. The kit includes a crutch, a picker, a tabletop panel, a foot pad, and a seat cushion. The crutch includes an upper section connected to a middle section by a first pivot and a lower section connected to the middle section by a second pivot. The first pivot and the second pivot orient the sections of crutch to position the crutch in an upright crutch configuration, a table configuration, a cane configuration, or a bench configuration. The picker attaches to the upper section when the crutch is in the table configuration. The foot pad attaches to the picker to stabilize the picker upright. The tabletop panel attaches to the upper section when the crutch is in the table configuration. The seat cushion attaches to the lower section when the crutch is in the bench configuration.

Standing and walking support device, system and method of use

A standing and walking support device and system supports and aids a user as the user moves from a sitting position to a standing position. A user is able to grasp and hold a top section of the device as the user stands up. As weight of the user and/or force is placed on the top section, the device compresses under the user's weight and/or force. The device guides the user to shift their center of gravity forward. As the user stands up, the device decompresses to return to its original height. The device and system is then usable as a support as the user walks.

A bodyweight unloading locomotive device includes a frame configured to support locomotive movement, and an unloading assembly carried by the frame. The unloading assembly includes a spring having a fixed end coupled to the frame and an opposed free end, a cam assembly mounted to the frame for rotational movement, a first tether extending from the free end of the spring to the cam assembly, and a second tether extending from the cam assembly to a load. The unloading assembly exerts an unloading force on the load with respect to the frame.

DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR PROMOTING PATIENT COMPLIANCE WITH A PRESCRIBED LOWER EXTREMITY PARTIAL WEIGHT-BEARING REHABILITATION PROGRAM
20230143646 · 2023-05-11 ·

In one aspect, an electronic device for promoting proper use of a walking aid during lower extremity injury rehabilitation comprises at least one load sensor configured to measure a load on the walking aid. A memory stores rehabilitation program data defining at least one time interval of a rehabilitation period and, for each time interval, a target load for the walking aid during the time interval. A currently operative time interval of the at least one time interval of the rehabilitation period is identified. Data is received, from the load sensor(s), indicative of a dynamic load on the walking aid during a patient step. Based upon the received data, a peak load upon the walking aid during the patient step is determined. A user notification indicating that the peak load is non-compliant with the target load for the walking aid for the currently operative time interval is provided.

Two-in-one walking support and methods of use

Two-in-one walking supports and methods of using the walking support. The walking supports include first and second shaft portions and a handle assembly that has first and second handles. A latching mechanism is incorporated into the first and second handles and is configured to releasably couple the first and second handles to form the handle assembly and a single walking support configuration with the first and second shaft portions abutting one another and being configured to decouple the first and second handles and separate the first and second shaft portions to form a two-piece walking support configuration.

Mobility system including an exoskeleton assembly releasably supported on a wheeled base

A mobility system includes a wheeled base, an exoskeleton assembly, and a docking assembly arranged to support the exoskeleton assembly on the wheeled base. The exoskeleton assembly has an upper torso portion, upper leg portions pivotal relative to the torso portion and lower leg portions pivotal relative to respective ones of the upper leg portions. The docking assembly is operable to couple the exoskeleton assembly to the wheeled base in a sitting position. The seating surface in the sitting position and the position control motors for operating the exoskeleton from sitting to standing are all separable from the wheeled base together with the exoskeleton assembly. Alternatively, extensible links may dock the standing exoskeleton to the wheeled base so that the base can trail the exoskeleton through a walking motion.
