DOUBLE-BLINDED, RANDOMIZED TRIAL OF AUGMENTED REALITY LOW-VISION MOBILITY AND GRASP AID
An augmented reality system for providing depth perspective includes a sensor system that provides spatial data of objects in a surrounding environment of a user. A computer processor system calculates spatial information of the objects from the spatial data received the sensor system. The computer processor system determines a depth-to-color mapping in which distance of objects from the user is mapped to a predetermined viewable representation. The system also includes a head mountable display that displays the depth-to-color mapping to the user. Characteristically, distances of the objects from the user are rendered to allow at least partial viewability of the object by the user. A method utilizing the augmented reality system is also provided.
INFORMATION PROCESSOR
A controller of a white stick system determines a walking direction of a person who acts without using eyesight based on sensor data acquired from built-in sensors, such as a camera, and generates a first notification to notify the determined walking direction. A wireless communication unit receives information regarding movement of a mobile object present around the person from a data communication module and a mobile terminal. The controller generates a second notification to notify a collision between the person who moves without using eyesight and the mobile object when the collision is predicted based on the information regarding movement of the mobile object.
A PRODUCT CONTROLLED WITH WATERPROOF PIEZO CRYSTALS
The invention relates to a product controlled with waterproof piezo crystals developed to control, through piezo crystals, the signaling system triggered before, during and after the crossing by pedestrians at signaled traffic intersections, wherein the product is highly durable and long-lasting, and facilitates use of signaled intersections by visually or hearing impaired and other pedestrians, and activates the signaling system, without the need to press any button, by detecting the pedestrians who stepped and applied pressure thereupon, thereby eliminating the risk of disease transmission.
SAFETY SMART SHELTER FOR DISASTER EVACUATION
A disaster safety smart shelter is a shelter installed outdoors and includes: a shelter housing including a plurality of side wall parts, a ceiling part shielding upper portions of the plurality of side wall parts, a waiting space formed therein and an opening and shutting door which is formed through at least a portion of the side wall parts to allow access to the waiting space; a ventilation module including an air discharge port provided through the ceiling part to discharge air inside the waiting space to the outside and an air suction port for supplying air from the outside to the waiting space; an information guidance terminal module provided to the exposed to the inside of the waiting space and displaying a plurality of pieces of information to a user; and a power supply module provided on the ceiling part to supply power to each part.
SENSORY BAND FOR OBSTACLE DETECTION IN THE VISUAL FIELD OF A USER WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENT
The present invention relates to the technical field of physiotherapeutic apparatuses and devices for locating or stimulating reflex points in the body of a patient. Specifically, it provides a sensory band comprising a frame having two arched arms, two antennas, a pair of ultrasonic transducers, three vibrators, and a microcontroller operatively connected to said pair of ultrasonic transducers, and to said three vibrators. The present invention further provides a method for obstacle detection that comprises said sensory band, wherein said method comprises the steps of transmitting an ultrasonic wave by means of said pair of ultrasonic transducers; measuring the reflection of said ultrasonic wave by means of said pair of ultrasonic transducers; providing vibrations to said three vibrators, from the reflection characteristics of said ultrasonic wave; wherein said vibration varies depending on the reflection characteristics of said ultrasonic wave.
Information processing apparatus and information processing method
A processing unit includes a direction decision unit and a guide information generation unit. The direction decision unit decides a direction in which a person who behaves without a sense of sight walks. The guide information generation unit generates guide information for the person who behaves without the sense of sight to walk in the decided direction. The present technology is applicable, for example, to a smartphone or the like used by the person who behaves without the sense of sight.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GUIDING VISUALLY IMPAIRED PERSON FOR WALKING USING 3D SOUND POINT
Herein disclosed a system and method of an intelligent visually impaired guiding system to help visually impaired people navigate easily when walking. The purpose of this invention is to create method, system, and apparatus, which assist the navigation of visually impaired people when walking, by following the trajectory path constructed by the system based on real-time environment condition. The invention provides an intelligent method of 3D sound point generation by utilizing the natural ability of humans to localize sounds. Therefore, this invention will eliminate biased information when navigating and increase the level of independence of visually impaired people.
ILLUMINATED WALKING ASSISTANCE APPARATUS
An illuminated walking assistance apparatus is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the apparatus provides an elongated staff having a ground-engaging tip portion at a first end and a handle at an opposing second end. The staff provides a light pipe positioned proximal the tip portion and having a light-emitting member disposed therein to selectively illuminate the ground proximal the tip portion. The staff further provides a red nightlight which is always on so as to facilitate locating the apparatus in a dark environment.
MOVEMENT SUPPORTING DEVICE, MOVEMENT SUPPORTING METHOD, AND PROGRAM
A movement support device comprises: an imaging device that acquires a captured image; a controller that calculates a safety degree based on the captured image; a storage that stores a necessary safety degree table in which a predetermined action candidate as an action that can be executed by the user and a necessary safety degree indicating a safety degree necessary for the user to safely perform an action indicated by the predetermined action candidate are stored in association with each other; an input unit that receives input of a selection operation by the user to select an action candidate desired by the user from among the predetermined action candidates; and an output unit.
