Dinuclear Copper Catalyst for the Oxidation/Oxygenation of Hydrocarbons
The subject invention provides synthetic compounds, and compound complexes having catalytic activities towards oxidation or oxygenation, and/or dehydrogenation of various substrates comprising C—H bonds. The catalysts of the subject invention comprise a dinuclear Cu(I)/Cu(II) center that can convert between a resting state and a reactive species. The subject invention also provides methods of using such catalysts for the oxidation of substrates comprising C—H bonds, e.g., hydrocarbons, to synthesize chemicals for use as pharmaceuticals and industrial feedstock.
A diphenylamine-linked chiral bis(oxazoline) ligand without C2-symmetry, synthesis method and application thereof
The present invention discloses a diphenylamine-linked chiral bis(oxazoline) ligand without C.sub.2-symmetry of formula 3 and its synthesis method and application in an asymmetric catalytic reaction, wherein C.sub.2-symmetry is lost by introducing different groups into the diphenylamine backbone to realize precise control of “electronic effect” of the ligand backbone. An anthranilic acid derivative and an orthochlorobenzoic acid derivative are used as starting materials to prepare a compound of formula 1, and then the compound of formula 1 is reacted with a chiral amino alcohol compound to prepare a β-bishydroxy amide compound of formula 2, and the compound of formula 2 is further subjected to condensation to obtain the diphenylamine-linked chiral bis(oxazoline) ligand without C.sub.2-symmetry of formula 3. The present invention also provides an application of a catalyst formed by coordination of the diphenylamine-linked chiral bis(oxazoline) ligand without C.sub.2-symmetry with copper salt, zinc salt, nickel salt, iron salt or rhodium salt, in an asymmetric catalytic reaction.

A lithium secondary battery is provided and, more specifically, a lithium secondary battery comprising a cathode catalyst including a transition metal composite having a stable structure in which four nitrogens are bonded to the transition metal as a cathode catalyst for a reduction reaction of sulfur generated during operation of the lithium secondary battery having a sulfur-containing material included in a cathode thereof, thereby improving performance and longevity of the battery.

PHOTOCATALYTIC OIL-WATER SEPARATION MATERIAL AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
The invention relates to a photocatalytic oil-water separation material and a preparation method thereof, the method including the following steps: cleaning a base material and a metal-doped material, and drying for later use; preparing a mixed solution of an amine monomer and an acid-alkali buffer reagent, soaking the base material in the mixed solution, and reacting under an oscillation condition, to obtain the base material attached with amine monomer polymer; dissolving a soluble metal additive and an organic ligand reagent into an organic solvent, and performing ultrasonic stirring uniformly, to obtain a metal organic framework material (MOF) reaction solution with photocatalytic performance; and placing the metal-doped material, the base material attached with the amine and the MOF reaction solution into a reaction kettle for performing hydrothermal reaction, cleaning and drying the reacted base material, to obtain the photocatalytic oil-water separation material.

In particular, an air and moisture stable chiral 1, 3-diarylimidazole carbene precursor Cu (I) complex has been prepared and applied to highly regio- and enantioselective Markovnikov hydroboration of unactivated terminal alkenes to form chiral boronic esters. WATER STABLE COPPER PADDLEWHEEL METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORK (MOF) COMPOSITIONS AND PROCESSES USING THE MOFS
This invention relates to a Cu-BTC MOF which is water stable. The Cu-BTC MOF has been modified by substituting some of the BTC ligand (1,3,5, benzene tricarboxylic acid) with 5-aminoisophthalic acid (AIA). The resultant MOF retains at least 40% of its as synthesized surface area after exposure to liquid water at 60° C. for 6 hours. This is an unexpected result versus the MOF containing only the BTC ligand. This MOF can be used to abate contaminants such as ammonia in gas streams and especially air streams.

This disclosure relates to CO.sub.2-philic crosslinked polyethylene glycol membranes useful for natural gas purification processes. Also provided are methods of using the membranes to remove CO.sub.2 and H.sub.2S from natural gas.
