A tissue treatment apparatus and method are provided for treating tissue by the application of the time-varying sub-atmospheric pressure. The apparatus includes a cover adapted to cover a wound and adapted to maintain sub-atmospheric pressure the site of the wound. The apparatus further includes a source of suction configured to generate a time-varying sub-atmospheric pressure having a periodic waveform comprising a gradual change in pressure. The suction source cooperates with the cover to supply the time-varying sub-atmospheric pressure under the cover to the wound. The time-varying sub-atmospheric pressure may vary between a first pressure value below the inherent tissue tension of the wound tissue and a second pressure value above the inherent tissue tension of the wound tissue.

The present disclosure is directed to a massage kit that includes a foam roller, a massage device, and a removable cover. The massage device includes a flat bottom surface with a curved top surface. Protrusions extend from the massage device and are configured to interact with the removable cover to hold the cover in place on the top surface or the bottom surface of the massage device. The roller includes an opening sized and dimensioned to receive the massage device.

A medical treatment device and method provide relief from symptoms of peripheral neuropathy and/or vascular dysfunction. The device provides pressure along an inner surface of a human limb of a user, so that at least a portion of the pressure is derived from the weight of the user seated atop the device, and includes a frame for providing support of the device on a floor and one or more curved extensions extending above a center of the frame and downward toward the floor and configured to contact the inner surface of the limb of the user so that weight of the limb supplies at least some of the pressure. The treatment method includes seating a patient atop the device and maintaining the pressure for a treatment interval to provide relief from the symptoms of the peripheral neuropathy and/or vascular dysfunction.

A mountable massage device is configured to have an adjustable length and be secured in a frame, such as a door frame, or other appropriate structure. In one disclosed embodiment, the device comprises a threaded rod, a center tube, first and second extension tubes, and first and second braces configured to support the device when secured in a frame. Handles are coupled to the center tube and allow a user to rotate the tube, thereby extending or retracting the extension tubes. This allows a user to match the length of the device to the width of a door frame. Massage pads are coupled to the center tube and may be used to massage a user's muscles.

A trigger point therapy device for applying pressure to a localized area of myofascial tissue that is accessed from the exterior of a patient's body. The therapy device includes a base portion has top and bottom surfaces that define a width dimension for the base portion. The therapy device also includes a pressure applicator that is connected to the base portion. The device allows an equivalent amount of pressure to be applied while the patient is lying on a soft surface as compared to lying on a hard surface. This increases the length of time that a patient will can comfortably use the device and promotes usage of the device by the patient. A method includes placing the device on a soft surface and positioning a patient on the soft surface to place the pressure applicator in engagement with the localized area of myofascial tissue.

A massage apparatus includes a sheet member attachable to a skin of a body, and a pressure unit that presses the skin from the sheet member. The sheet member is elastic and thermoplastic such that the sheet member is hardened at a temperature of the skin and is softened at a predetermined temperate different from the temperature of the skin. The sheet member has one or more indications indicating an area of the skin to which the sheet member is to be attached. The pressure unit applies a pressure to the skin so as to provide a predetermined pressure distribution in which positions of the pressure distribution are defined with reference to one or more positions on the body in a situation in which the sheet member is attached to the area.

Device and method for relieving muscle tension. The device includes a tip portion with a first three dimensional geometry, an extension portion with a second three dimensional geometry, and a base portion with a third three dimensional geometry. The device is configured such that a user can attain trigger point release on a muscle or muscle group by positioning the device on a fixed surface, positioning the tip portion of the device to be in contact with the muscle or muscle group, and then selectively applying pressure to the muscle or muscle group using the weight of the user and contact forces.

A wall-mounted massage device includes a mounting member having a front surface, a rear surface opposite the front surface, a first side surface, a second side surface opposite the first side surface, a first end, and a second end opposite the first end. A groove is formed in the rear surface of the mounting member and exposes each aperture of the mounting member. The massage device also includes one or more accessories capable of being removably mounted to the mounting member. To removably mount each accessory to the mounting member, each accessory includes an accessory mounting part that is complimentary in shape to one or more apertures formed in the front surface of the mounting member. The multiple ridges 10a, 10b, 12a, 12b, 14a, and 14b on the treatment elements are arranged concavely in front view to uniformly match the convex shape of the head and neck, and arranged to extend outwardly in profile from the device 2, treatment element portion or chair to an extent to direct therapeutic forces directly onto the cervical (neck) facet joints and neck muscles of a person using the device to mobilise the facet joints and massage the muscles of the neck of the user replicating treatment provided by a physical therapist by relieving pain, reducing joint stiffness, muscle tightness and tension, to the neck of a person and also relieve neck-related headaches.
