A wraparound portion of compression garments may include a mitt defining a mitt opening. A user may place their hand in the mitt opening of the mitt to assist in donning the compression garments about their body. For example, the wraparound portion of the compression garment may be located in awkward position for a human user to grasp, and the mitt and mitt opening may assist a user in grasping and moving the wraparound portion about their body.

This invention pertains to a therapeutic pressure applicator with a sensor and transceiver worn by a patient during daily activity to apply pressure to a specific body part during long term treatment, and used in a system with a device such as a cell phone to receive and display real-time pressure data to alert the patient and physician when the pressure is outside a desired range. The applicator includes a securement member and a pressure adjusting device with a pressure adjusting dial, pressure sensing component, pressure focusing plate and cushion. Rotating the dial retracts or extends the sensing component, focusing plate and cushion. The applicator has a computer module with a CPU, memory, transceiver, power source and a force sensor. The focusing plate aligns a pressure button into pressed engagement with the sensor to transmit real-time focused pressure data to the CPU, which converts the focused data into real-time cushion pressure data. The transceiver periodically communicates the long-term, real-time cushion pressure data to the cell phone that displays and stores the data.

A garment having at least one sleeve, intended to cover a part of the body of a wearer, the sleeve having at least one region, the inner surface of which is equipped with a network of picots, the sleeve being designed to be able to exert compressive stress from said picots onto the skin of the body part that is intended to be positioned facing said network, the picots each having a trigonal base and being distributed in the network so as to form alveoli between adjacent picots, the sleeve being designed such that the picots can exert pressure on the skin great enough to form a skin protrusion in at least one alveolus in order to micro-massage the protrusion during relative movements taking place between the network and the body part.

A massage apparatus includes a frame defining a central opening, with a web of mesh cloth or fabric spanning the opening. A plurality of SMA wire segments span the central opening directly adjacent to the cloth or fabric. The wire segments are joined at opposed ends to a power circuit that provides ohmic heating for the wires. The wires may be actuated singly and sequentially, the contraction of each wire providing a compression of the body portion upon which it impinges. In an embodiment, a system to assist with an intended motion of a user is provided. The system includes one or more processors, and an electronic textile. The electronic textile includes a textile substrate, an actuator coupled to the textile substrate, a sensor coupled to the textile substrate, and a battery coupled to the textile substrate, the battery electrically coupled to a conductive yarn, the conductive yarn further electrically coupled to the actuator and the sensor. Embodiments also include a system to assist with blood circulation of a user and a method of assisting blood circulation of a user.

A method causes relaxation of a muscle of a body of a person or an animal. In a period in which a patient moves his or her body in a reciprocating manner to expand and contract the muscle, the patient or another person presses an arbitrary spot on the skin of the patient toward the muscle using a fingertip, for example. The pressing by the fingertip is controlled so that the area of the pressed spot on the skin falls within a range of 2 cm.sup.2 to 0.1 cm.sup.2 and the pressing force applied to the pressed spot falls within a range of 1 kgf to 100 gf.

The present invention relates to therapeutic body massage devices, and more particularly, to an extendable and retractable massage device which is particularly effective in relieving tender and painful connective tissue and muscular conditions, including but not limited to trigger points. The present invention is directed to an appliance having an adjustable shaft that can access all points on both sides of the body and that allows an individual to place a pressure accessory element of the appliance between the body and a flat surface to apply sustained pressure to a treatment site with minimal effort without taxing other parts of the body and without the pressure accessory element dislodging from the treatment site. The present invention further provides a massage system and a method of self-administering massage therapy on a body or limb.

A massager with heating features includes at least one massage head, one heating lamp, an upper housing, a carriage, a motor, one set of gear assembly, and a lower housing.

A massage tool that provides direct therapeutic pressure to the ventral rami and femoral nerves, and/or the psoas and iliacus muscles is disclosed. The tool includes upward pointing blades that may be properly aligned with the nerves and/or muscles to gently lengthen the nerves and relax the muscles. This in turn may lessen pressure to associated joints and bones thereby providing relief to chronic back and/or leg pain.
