Pipetting device with a stator magnet assembly, which can be used on both sides, as part of a linear-motor drive of a pipetting unit
A pipetting device includes pipetting unit(s), a guide assembly with at least one guide rail on which the pipetting unit(s) is guided in order to be moved along a movement axis, and a linear drive assembly, by which the pipetting unit(s) can be driven in order to be moved along the movement axis. The linear drive device has a stationary stator, and the at least one pipetting unit forms a linear drive assembly rotor which can be moved along the movement axis relative to the stator. The pipetting device also has at least two rotor magnet assemblies which interact with the same common stator magnet assembly so as to generate a drive force and which are arranged at a distance from one another along a spacing axis that is orthogonal to the movement axis. The common stator magnet assembly is located between the at least two rotor magnet assemblies.
PHARMACEUTICAL CONTAINERS INCLUDING SEALING ASSEMBLY WITH FILLER MATERIAL
A sealed pharmaceutical container including: a shoulder; a neck extending from the shoulder; a flange extending from the neck, the flange including: an underside surface extending from the neck; an outer surface extending from the underside surface, the outer surface defining an outer diameter of the flange; and an upper sealing surface extending between the outer surface and an inner surface defining an opening in the sealed pharmaceutical container, and a sealing assembly including: a stopper including a sealing portion extending over the upper sealing surface of the flange and covering the opening, and an insertion portion extending into the opening and in contact with the inner surface of the flange, the stopper having a first CTE; and a filler member encased within the stopper and having a second CTE, the second CTE being lower than the first CTE.
TEST DEVICE
The present invention relates to test devices comprising one or more retaining members for removably retaining a sample applicator, sample applicators for use with such test devices, and kits comprising test devices and sample applicators of the invention.
VERIFICATION PIPETTE AND VISION APPARATUS
Manually operated pipettors, widely used in clinical, forensics, pharmaceutical research, hospital and biotech laboratories to transfer small volumes of liquid, may be subject to positional errors, operator use errors and hidden performance degradation. Manual pipette performance cannot be accepted without monitoring and reporting. This invention concerns a computer controlled vision tracking and lighting system working in conjunction with a sensor controlled fluid dispensing device and controller to confirm pipette tip positional locations during aspiration and dispensing operations with automatic monitoring of liquids entering and leaving a pipette apparatus to digitally track a manual pipetting operation with a digital output file of validated liquid transfer results. The invention may also monitor possible error conditions and prevent improper liquid transfers during the manual process.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING CONTACT OF A PIPETTE TIP WITH A LIQUID AS WELL AS A LABORATORY SYSTEM WITH SUCH A DEVICE
A method for detecting contact of a pipette tip with a surface of a liquid in a pipetting device is disclosed. The method consists of moving the pipette tip in the direction of the surface of the liquid thereby measuring an absolute capacitance between the pipette tip and a reference potential and generating a sampled output signal. A predicted momentary sample value of the output signal is generated based on a plurality of past sample values of the output signal. A contact signal indicative of the pipette tip being in contact with the surface of the liquid is generated based on comparing a momentary sample value of the output signal with the predicted momentary sample value of the output signal. A corresponding pipetting device capable of performing the method as a laboratory system, in particular an automated liquid processing system, with one or more such pipetting devices are proposed.
Nucleic acid extraction system
A nucleic acid extraction system, comprising: a nucleic acid extraction plate, and a pipetting device and positive pressure device that are arranged side by side, the pipetting device comprising: an infusion device, an infusion device mounting frame, an infusion device driving unit, and a plurality of infusion units, each of the infusion units comprising: a reagent supply device and a reagent flow controller; the positive pressure device comprises: a plug, an air pipe, a positive pressure provider and a positive pressure driving device. The nucleic acid extraction system is highly efficiency and low-cost when extracting nucleic acid.
Automatic assaying system and methods therefor
An automatic assaying system having a multiplex pipette cartridge section in which pipette cartridges are docked. At least one pipette cartridge has a different pipetting characteristic from another corresponding pipette cartridge, the different pipetting characteristic being selectable from a number of different pipetting characteristics. A multiplexing work item holder has an array of work item holder docks that dock corresponding work item holders selectable from pipette trays and pipette tip set racks that define the selectable different pipetting characteristic. One or more of the work item holder docks are indexed to selectably multiplex both the different interchangeable pipette trays and the at least one pipette set rack. A carrier moves the pipette cartridge or a work item holder carriage and a controller selects the at least one pipette tip set rack corresponding to a work item holder dock so as to effect automatic selection of the different pipetting characteristic.
Comminution of feces and preparation for analysis
An analytical toilet comprising: a bowl for collecting feces from a user; a comminutor that comminutes at least a portion of the feces; a processing fluid driver that causes a processing fluid to mix with and transport at least a portion of the comminuted feces to an analytical station in the toilet; a separator that separates a sample of the at least a portion of the comminuted feces to be analyzed; and a wash fluid driver that causes a wash fluid to wash the feces out of the bowl.
Droplet generating method
A droplet generating method includes the steps of providing a micro-pipe having an outlet end; providing a liquid driving device to generate a flow of a first liquid; locating and positioning the micro-pipe which extends along a vertical longitudinal axis; connecting the liquid driving device with the micro-pipe so that the first liquid flows and is emitted out from the outlet end; providing a container, which is positioned at least in-part below the micro-pipe and adapted to contain a second liquid including a liquid surface disposed at a position located between a highest and a lowest positions; and either vertically or horizontally vibrating the micro-pipe, and thereby forming a plurality of droplets of the first liquid emitted from the outlet end at a position below the liquid surface of the second liquid.
Needle-free, safety biological sample collection system
A collection container for biological samples is described. In one embodiment, the collection container includes a receptacle and a lid with a sampling port. The sampling port is coupled to an aspiration tube and allows access to the contents of the receptacle. A needle-free fitting allows a mating device to be coupled to the sampling port. A valve automatically closes to prevent the sample from escaping through the sampling port when a mating device is not coupled.
