ASSEMBLY FOR PRESSURE CONTROLLED FLUID RELEASE AND ITS METHOD THEREFORE
The invention relates to an assembly for contactless pressure-controlled release of a fluid comprising a non-compressible compartment, at least two fluids in fluidic contact and enclosed inside the non-compressible compartment, one of the two fluids being compressible, and one channel for fluid flow.
CELL DISPENSER
An apparatus is provided for dispensing cells which comprises a determination unit to perform a determination as to whether a receptacle (i.e. a well) contains exactly one sample cell. This is because a medical study may require each cell in a colony of cultivated sample cells to each be derived from a common sample cell. The apparatus also comprises a dispenser to dispense one or more feeder cells into the receptacle based on the determination (i.e. when it is determined that the receptacle contains exactly one sample cell). The feeder cells which the apparatus is arranged to dispense are one or more feeder cells which are adapted to be responsive to a trigger condition being met to trigger death of that feeder cell. When the trigger condition is met, such as by controlling an environment of the receptacle, cell death of the feeder cells in the receptacle is triggered which results in only sample cells remaining alive.
Dog clutch system for holding the position of a volume adjustment screw for a sampling pipette
A dog clutch system for holding the position of a volume adjustment screw for a pipetting system, the system comprising: —a first toothed wheel comprising first teeth; —a second toothed wheel comprising second teeth; —a return spring capable of urging the first and second wheels against each other, the second teeth of the second wheel forming a number N of concentric annular rows, and the second wheel having at least one tooth overlap area in which the N annular rows of second teeth have, respectively, N overlap sectors that overlap each other in a radial direction, and within which the teeth are angularly offset.
Tubular structure for producing droplets and method for producing droplets
A tubular structure for producing droplets and a method of using the tubular structure to produce droplets are provided. The tubular structure includes microchannel structures, and is used for droplet generation, droplet collection, nucleic acid amplification and/or in situ droplet detection, etc.
Parallelized multiple nozzle system and method to produce layered droplets and fibers for microencapsulation
The present disclosure relates to a nozzle system for use in a microfluidic production application for producing at least one of particles, capsules or fibers. The system has a main body portion having a compressed fluid inlet and a core fluid inlet, and a plurality of parallel arranged core fluid nozzles that receive the core fluid and create a plurality of core fluid streams. At least one compressed fluid inlet associated with the main body channels compressed fluid to areas adjacent ends of the core fluid nozzles. An apertured plate having a plurality of apertures is arranged near the ends of the core fluid nozzles, with each aperture being uniquely associated with a single one of the core fluid nozzles. The compressed fluid acts on the core fluid streams exiting the core fluid nozzles to help create, with the apertures, at least one of core fluid droplets or core fluid fibers from the core fluid streams.
CELL DETECTION DEVICE AND CELL DETECTION METHOD
A cell detection device that detects a cell in a specimen with high sensitivity and includes a sealed container having a sealable specimen introduction portion, a culture portion that holds a culture solution, an extraction reagent portion that holds an extraction reagent, and a luminescent reagent portion that holds a luminescent reagent, a contact mechanism that controls contact between the culture solution, the extraction reagent, and the luminescent reagent, a photodetector that detects luminescence from the luminescent reagent portion, and a calculator that determines growth of a cell based on a detection signal of the photodetector. The culture solution, the extraction reagent, and the luminescent reagent are separately disposed in the sealed container, and the contact mechanism brings the culture solution to which a specimen is added and the extraction reagent into contact to obtain an extraction solution, and intermittently brings the extraction solution and the luminescent reagent into contact.
Digital dispense system
A digital dispense system for preparing and analyzing a plurality of samples. The system includes two or more fluid droplet ejection devices. Each fluid droplet ejection device contains a fluid droplet ejection cartridge containing at least one fluid to be dispensed. The fluid droplet ejection cartridge is attached to a translation mechanism for moving the fluid droplet ejection cartridge back and forth over a sample holder in an x direction. A sample tray translation mechanism is provided for moving a sample tray along a production path in a y direction orthogonal to the x direction through the two or more fluid droplet ejection devices.
MANIPULATION OF MICROFLUIDIC DROPLETS
The invention provides methods for assessing one or more predetermined characteristics or properties of a microfluidic droplet within a microfluidic channel, and regulating one or more fluid flow rates within that channel to selectively alter the predetermined microdroplet characteristic or property using a feedback control.
Reuse of dispensers during alignment procedures
In example implementations, a method is provided. The method may be executed by a processor of a fluid dispensing apparatus. The method includes dispensing a fluid onto a surface from a dispenser during an alignment procedure. The surface is ejected for alignment verification. The surface is then received for re-execution of the alignment procedure after the alignment verification. The dispenser is re-used to dispense fluid onto the surface during re-execution of the alignment procedure.
Cassette substrates made of polyetherimide
A cassette may include a substrate and a die coupled to the substrate wherein the substrate is made of modified polyetherimide (PEI). A system for ejecting a fluid into an assay may include at least one dispense head, the at least one dispense head including a substrate and a die coupled to the substrate wherein the substrate is made of modified polyetherimide (PEI).
