An object of the present invention is to provide a dispensing device that can inhibit a dead volume from occurring and can dispense a liquid of a small quantity with a high degree of accuracy while reducing the variation of dispensing quantities. A dispensing device according to the present invention has a detachable dispensing tip and the dispensing tip has a configuration of arranging a plunger in a hollow part of a metal pipe (refer to FIG. 2).

Device And Method For Accelerated Material Extraction And Detection

A method and device are provided for detecting a target in a biological sample. The target binds to a solid phase substrate. First and second cavities in a plate are filled with an oil. The first and second cavities are in fluid communication with each other. The solid phase substrate is magnetically drawn sequentially from a drop of the biological sample in the first cavity, through the oil, into a drop of the reaction solution in the second cavity. A change in a parameter of the drop of the reaction solution indicates the presence of the target.

AUTOMATED SOLID PHASE EXTRACTION USING FILTER TIPS
20210373006 · 2021-12-02 ·

Devices and methods for performing pre-analysis sample processing of biological and chemical samples using robotic liquid handlers are disclosed. Methods for solid phase extraction, protein precipitation and filtration of biological and chemical samples using automation and the devices in a rapid and convenient way are described.

Method and apparatus for identification of bacteria

An automated system for identifying in a biological sample microorganisms and their antimicrobial susceptibility (AST). The system provided an automated platform for preparing, from a single biological sample, inoculates for both ID and AST. The system loads a plate for ID testing as samples are being prepared for AST testing. The system tracks the sample and the inoculates from the samples to link the test results to the sample and the patients from whom the sample was obtained.

INTEGRATED MICROFLUIDIC DEVICE WITH PIPETTE ADAPTATION

An integrated microfluidic unit with pipette adaptation. The integrated microfluidic unit may be accommodated within a pipette tip rack for storage prior to use and may be received by a translating pipette head during use. The number of components required within the laboratory instrument is reduced compared to processes employing discrete microfluidic chips and pipette tips. Processes involving microfluidic devices integrated into the presently disclosed unit are streamlined at least by the elimination of discrete manipulation steps associated with aspirating sample fluid into a pipette tip, then using a discrete chip feeder or manipulator to bring the chip and pipette tip into fluidic communication for transfer of the sample to the chip. The number of consumables is also reduced by the integration of microfluidics with physical features enabling fluid aspiration and unit conveyance. A variety of microfluidic devices and channel configurations may be accommodated.

Provided are a reaction well cartridge device and reaction well cartridge system suitable for biochemical or biological reaction, the reaction well cartridge device including a cartridge body including at least one of a reaction well container containing a reaction well where biological reactions occur, pipette tip containers containing at least pipette tips, a sample container containing a sample, reagent containers containing reagents, a mixed solution container containing a mixed solution of the sample and the reagents, a diluent container containing a diluent, washing solution containers containing washing solutions, and combinations thereof, and a temporary storage provided on the cartridge body to temporarily store wastes produced after the reactions occur in the reaction well.

AUTOMATED GROUP SEPARATIONS OF COMPLEX MIXTURES WITH GEL FILTRATION PIPETTE TIPS
20220184525 · 2022-06-16 ·

A device for automated or manual group separations of complex biological mixtures and methods of use are described. The device is a gel filtration pipette tip having a size exclusion media therein and held in place by a filter at the distal end of the pipette tip and an optional removable or pierceable barrier at the proximal end of the pipette tip. The size exclusion media is wetted by aspirating a solvent from the bottom of the pipette tip and equilibrating the solvent with the size exclusion media. The solvent is then allowed to gravity drain from the pipette tip, allowing the size exclusion media to settle and reproducibly pack into a homogenous gel. Gel filtration separations can then be performed with the gelled size exclusion media.
