20220184625 · 2022-06-16 ·

A specimen holder includes a body, a sleeve, and a wireless transponder. The body has distal and proximal portions, the distal portion including a surface that carries a specimen upon engagement of the body with the specimen, and the proximal portion including a first pair of parallel surfaces. The sleeve has distal and proximal portions, a side wall, and an internal cavity at least partially enclosed by the side wall. The distal portion of the sleeve includes a second pair of parallel surfaces. The wireless transponder is sized to be positioned within the internal cavity of the sleeve. The sleeve is attachable to the body by capturing one of the first and second pairs of parallel surfaces between the other of the first and second pairs of parallel surfaces.

METHOD FOR PURIFYING AND TESTING BIOMOLECULES FROM BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES
20220176370 · 2022-06-09 · ·

The present disclosure relates to, inter alia, an easy-to-operate, fully closed component, which can be part of an instrument, for purification of biomolecules from biological samples, and subsequent transfer, and testing of the biomolecules, as well as an instrument comprising the component, and a method for using the component.

Liquid mixing

An embodiment provides a device for mixing at least two reagent fluids, the mixed at least two reagent fluids being used for the measurement of a chemical attribute of a sample, including: a housing; at least two inlet ports, each to receive fluid in a premix state; an outlet port to dispense fluid in a postmix state; and a surface of a lumen for mixing, located within the housing, having a predetermined length, wherein the surface of the lumen is located between the at least two inlet ports and the outlet port, wherein the at least two inlet ports transition into the surface of the lumen, wherein the predetermined length is of a length allowing for sufficient mixing of the fluids received by the at least two inlet ports, wherein the surface of the lumen comprises at least one anti-siphoning element and a plurality of weirs to create a disturbance of a fluid contained therein, wherein the at least two fluids each comprise a reagent for a measurement of a chemical attribute of a sample. Other aspects are described and claimed.

Blood testing system and method

Some embodiments of a blood coagulation testing system include an analyzer console device and a single-use cartridge component configured to releasably install into the console device. In some embodiments, the blood coagulation testing system can operate as an automated thromboelastometry system that is particularly useful, for example, at a point-of-care site.

Method of facilitating the handling of a volume of fluid

A device and method are provided to facilitate the handling of a volume of fluid. The device includes an elongated tube having an open first end and a second end. The tube defines a reservoir for receiving the volume of fluid. A stanchion has a first end received within the reservoir of the tube and a second end projecting from the open end of the elongated tube. In operation, the elongated tube is deposited in a first capsule having fluid therein. The first capsule is centrifuged such that the volume of fluid is received in a reservoir in the tube through the open end. The tube is removed from the first capsule and positioned in a second capsule such that the open end of the tube is spaced from a closed end of the second capsule. The second capsule is centrifuged such that the volume of fluid is expelled from the reservoir of the tube.

EXTRACTION APPARATUS, EXTRACTION METHOD, AND FLUIDIC CHIP FOR EXTRACTING TARGET MATERIAL

The present invention relates to an extraction apparatus, extraction method, and fluidic chip for extracting a target material. In the extraction apparatus according to the present invention, in a state in which a target material is bound to a porous film in an extraction kit, when an elution solution and a magnetic solution sequentially pass, the elution solution remaining in the porous film is pushed out by the magnetic solution due to a difference in polarity, and collected in a collection chamber. In addition, even in the collection chamber, the elution solution and the magnetic solution are maintained in a stacked state due to different polarities, and in a state in which the magnetic solution in the collection chamber is physically separated from the elution solution by magnetism of a magnetism applicator, the elution solution in the collection chamber may be recovered. Accordingly, after the elution solution is collected in the collection chamber along with the magnetic solution, in a state in which the magnetic solution in the collection chamber is physically separated from the elution solution by magnetism, the elution solution may be recovered.

In some embodiments, the blood coagulation testing system can operate as an automated thromboelastometry system that is particularly useful, for example, at a point-of-care site.

Reagent container

A reagent container is disclosed that is installed in an analyzer for use and stores a reagent supplied to the analyzer via an aspiration tube. The reagent container includes a container body. The container body includes a tubular member with an opening into which the aspiration tube is inserted from above, and a bag-shaped member joined to the tubular member and storing the reagent. The container body comprises a penetration prevention member that prevents a tip of the aspiration tube 90 inserted through the opening from penetrating the container body.

SYSTEM AND CARTRIDGE FOR SAMPLE TESTING

A system for analysis of a sample to aid in diagnosis and/or detection of the presence or absence, and/or the identity of, an analyte in the sample is provided. A cartridge with reagents to isolate nucleic acid from a sample inserted in the cartridge and to amplify the isolated nucleic acid, and an instrument that interacts with the cartridge, together provide a self-contained sample to answer system for detection, identification, differentiation and/or quantification of a target nucleic acid in a sample.
