The fluidic interface includes a first liquid port, a second liquid port, a gas port, and a seal ring disposed around the first liquid port, the second liquid port, and the gas port, the first liquid port disposed along a center axis of the container.
Glass/resin composite structure and method for manufacturing same
A composite structure with high pressure resistance that is suitable for a flow channel is produced by reducing the number of components while maintaining the excellent chemical resistance and high stress tolerance inherent to a glass substrate and a resin substrate. A glass substrate surface is modified with a hydrolyzable silicon compound, and the glass substrate is brought into contact with the resin substrate. Subsequently, the contact surface between the glass substrate and the resin substrate is heated to a temperature from the glass transition temperature to the pyrolysis temperature of the resin substrate, eliminating gaps between the glass substrate and the resin substrate to bring them into close contact with each other, and causing chemical binding or anchor effects between the glass substrate and the resin substrate via the hydrolyzable silicon compound. Thus, the glass substrate and the resin substrate are firmly fixed to each other.
TUBING ASSEMBLY
The invention relates to a tube assembly comprising at least two tubes arranged in at least one plane at predefined distances and to a casing covering the tubes in the longitudinal direction.
METHOD FOR PERFORMING A MAGNETIC SEPARATION PROCEDURE
A method for performing a magnetic separation procedure that includes transporting a receptacle containing a fluid medium to a first location of a system, where the fluid medium contains both a sample material and a suspension of magnetically-responsive solid supports. At the first location, the fluid medium is exposed to a first magnetic field for a first dwell period, thereby isolating the solid supports within the receptacle, where no portion of the fluid medium is removed from the receptacle at the first location. The receptacle is then transported from the first location to a second location of the system, where the fluid medium is exposed to a second magnetic field for a second dwell period. Following the second dwell period, at least a portion of the fluid medium is removed from the receptacle. A suspension fluid is then dispensed into the receptacle, and the contents of the receptacle are agitated to suspend the solid supports within the suspension fluid.
LIQUID MIXING
An embodiment provides a device for mixing at least two reagent fluids, the mixed at least two reagent fluids being used for the measurement of a chemical attribute of a sample, including: a housing; at least two inlet ports, each to receive fluid in a premix state; an outlet port to dispense fluid in a postmix state; and a surface of a lumen for mixing, located within the housing, having a predetermined length, wherein the surface of the lumen is located between the at least two inlet ports and the outlet port, wherein the at least two inlet ports transition into the surface of the lumen, wherein the predetermined length is of a length allowing for sufficient mixing of the fluids received by the at least two inlet ports, wherein the surface of the lumen comprises at least one anti-siphoning element and a plurality of weirs to create a disturbance of a fluid contained therein, wherein the at least two fluids each comprise a reagent for a measurement of a chemical attribute of a sample. Other aspects are described and claimed.
Device and method to facilitate the prepackaging, handling and use of small volumes of fluids
A device and method are provided to facilitate the handling of a volume or fluid. The device includes an elongated tube having an open first end and a second end. The tube defines a reservoir for receiving the volume or fluid. A stanchion has a first end received within the reservoir of the tube and a second end projecting from the open end of the elongated tube. In operation, the elongated tube is deposited in a first capsule having fluid therein. The first capsule is centrifuged such that the volume of fluid is received in a reservoir in the tube through the open end. The tube is removed from the first capsule and positioned in a second capsule such that the open end of the tube is spaced from a closed end of the second capsule. The second capsule is centrifuged such that the volume of fluid is expelled from the reservoir of the tube.
Fluid transport apparatus, flexible conduit, method of manufacturing flexible conduit, and storage method
A fluid transport apparatus defining an aseptic pathway configured to direct fluids therethrough is provided. The fluid transport apparatus may include a conduit extending between a first terminus and a second terminus. The conduit may include platinum catalyzed silicone rubber having methyl and phenyl side groups. The conduit may have a storage modulus of 10.sup.8 or less Pascals at 75 degrees Celsius. At least one fitting may be connected to the first terminus. A fluid storage accessory may be engaged with the second terminus. A related flexible conduit, method of manufacturing a flexible conduit, and storage method are also provided.
Evaporation-limiting inserts for reagent containers and related methods of use
An insert for a liquid-holding container may include a body comprising a wall, open first and second ends, and a lumen extending from the open first end to the open second end. The insert also may include a plurality of first openings formed in the wall, the first openings being situated between the first and second ends, and each of the first openings defining an area, and one or more second openings formed in the wall, the one or more second openings being situated between the first and second ends, each of the one or more second openings defining an area that is greater than the area defined by any of the first openings, where at least one of the one or more second openings is situated closer to the first end than any of the first openings, and wherein each of the first and second openings is sized to permit the passage of a liquid.
Reconfigurable chemical synthesis systems and methods
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to reconfigurable chemical synthesis systems and related components and methods. In one aspect, a fluidic system comprises a plurality of fluid outlets, a plurality of fluid inlets, a plurality of tensioners, and a plurality of flexible conduits associated with the plurality of tensioners, wherein at least one flexible conduit of the plurality of flexible conduits is configured to fluidically connect a fluid outlet of the plurality of fluid outlets and a fluid inlet of the plurality of fluid inlets.
