Liposomes and methods of production thereof

Methods and devices for producing a population of liposomes are provided. Aspects of the methods include applying a centrifugal force to a suspension of liposomes in a manner sufficient to pass the liposomes through a porous membrane to produce a population of liposomes. Aspects of the invention further include devices, systems and kits useful for performing the methods.

Various embodiments of a fluidic system of the present teachings are configured to execute a sequence of fluidic operations over the course of a next generation sequencing analysis for the sequential delivery of various solutions used over the course of analysis to a multilane sensor device. Exemplary fluidic operations include washing, priming and nucleotide reagent delivery through a fluidic multiplexer block that is configured to provide independent fluid distribution to each lane of a multilane sensor device used for detection during an analysis. Accordingly, any number or combination of lanes can be used during an analysis, so that during an analysis one lane in any position can be used singly during a run, all four lanes can be used simultaneously during a run, or any combination of lanes can be used simultaneously during a run.

A chemiluminescence analyzer includes a reactor to cause waste liquid discharged from a blood purification apparatus to react with a reagent solution, a photodetector to measure an intensity of chemiluminescence arising in the reactor, a first liquid conveyor to convey the waste liquid from a waste liquid passage of the blood purification apparatus to the reactor, and a second liquid conveyor to convey the reagent solution to the reactor. The chemiluminescence analyzer further includes a liquid mixture passage extending from the reactor to convey a liquid mixture including the waste liquid and the reagent solution after reaction, a joint to couple the liquid mixture passage to the waste liquid passage of the blood purification apparatus, and an electric interface for connection with an external device.

A flow cell for use in a fluid management and/or processing system is disclosed, said flow cell comprising a body having an inlet and an outlet and a fluid flow channel extending from the inlet to the outlet. Said body further comprises a receptacle comprising a chamber forming a part of the fluid flow channel, said chamber comprising a first opening for connecting a functional element to the flow cell such that the functional element is in contact with or exposed to a fluid flow passing through the fluid flow channel. A first tubular connector is arranged adjacent to the inlet. A second tubular connector is arranged adjacent to the outlet. The flow cell further comprises a functional element and a fluid flow path extending from the first tubular connector through the inlet, the body, the receptacle, and the outlet, to the second tubular connector.
