SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR A REUSABLE, ASEPTIC CONNECTOR
Described here are systems and methods for a reusable, aseptic connector. A connector system provides aseptic fluid connection. The connector system has an inlet connector assembly having an inlet fluid passageway and an inlet valve configured to seal the inlet fluid passageway when in a disconnected state. The connector also has an outlet connector assembly having an outlet fluid passageway and an outlet valve configured to seal the outlet fluid passageway when in a disconnected state. The inlet valve is configured to couple to the outlet valve to form an aseptic fluid connection between the inlet and outlet fluid passageways when in a connected state.
Front-loading valve assembly for manifold for processing fluid sample
A valve assembly used in a manifold system fix processing fluid samples includes a body, a valve member, and a coupling assembly. The body defines a fluid passage and a valve passage in communication with the fluid passage and receiving at least a portion of the valve member therein. The valve member is selectively movable over a range of travel between an open position, in which fluid can flow through the fluid passage, and a closed position, in which the valve member occludes the fluid passage. The coupling assembly includes a coupling member and a retention lug. The retention lug is connected to one of the body and the coupling member. The other of the body and the coupling member defines a lug raceway configured to removably receive the retention lug therein to removably mount the coupling member to the body with the valve member being movably retained therebetween.

A system and method of fluid delivery for providing a surface fluid pattern, the system comprising: a fluid delivery head for fluid flow therethrough, the fluid delivery head comprising: a fluid delivery surface having surface openings defined therein and arranged across the fluid delivery surface as a two-dimensional display; wherein at least some of the surface openings are grouped as a surface opening unit having at least one aspiration opening through which fluid can be provided to the fluid delivery surface and at least one injection opening through which fluid can be moved away from the fluid delivery surface, the surface opening unit comprising at least three surface openings positioned as a two-dimensional display and outwardly of at least one other surface opening.

LIQUID TO LIQUID BIOLOGICAL PARTICLE CONCENTRATOR WITH DISPOSABLE FLUID PATH
Highly efficient and rapid filtration-based concentration devices, systems and methods are disclosed with sample fluidic lines and a filter packaged in a disposable tip which concentrates biological particles that are suspended in liquid from a dilute feed suspension. A sample concentrate or retentate suspension is retained while eliminating the separated fluid in a separate flow stream. The concentrate is then dispensed from the disposable tip in a set volume of elution fluid. Suspended biological particles include such materials as proteins/toxins, viruses, DNA, and/or bacteria in the size range of approximately 0.001 micron to 20 microns diameter. Concentration of these particles is advantageous for detection of target particles in a dilute suspension, because concentrating them into a small volume makes them easier to detect and identify. A single-use pipette tip includes fluid ports for aspirating the sample and connecting to a concentrating unit.

Assay cartridges are described that have a plurality of chambers and a fluidic network that includes fluidic conduits and a multi-port valve designed to selectively connect the valve inlet and one valve outlet through a fluidic connector in the valve as the remaining valve outlets are sealed.
Blood sample management using open cell foam
A specimen transfer device adapted to receive a blood sample is disclosed. The specimen transfer device includes a housing and an actuation member. A deformable material is disposed within the housing and is deformable from an initial position in which the material is adapted to hold the sample to a deformed position in which at least a portion of the sample is released from the material. A viscoelastic member is disposed within the housing between the material and the housing and between the material and the actuation member. The viscoelastic member is engaged with the actuation member and the material such that movement of the actuation member from a first position to a second position deforms the material from the initial position to the deformed position.
BLOOD TESTING SYSTEM AND METHOD
