Pipette tip for an automated pipetting device and production method thereof
The present invention relates to pipette tips for connecting to a pipette tube of a pipetting device that is used for taking up and dispensing fluids. A pipette tip is shaped as a long tube that forms a pipette body with an opening on one of its ends and the other end is designed to connect to the pipette tube. The pipette tip is characterised in that it has an electrode as a volume measuring electrode of a measuring capacitor. The present invention further relates to pipetting devices with a pipette tip, methods for determining the volume of a fluid sample in such a pipette tip, methods for recognising such a pipette tip on a pipetting device, methods for producing such a pipette tip, uses for such a pipette tip and a set of pipette tips.
Storage box for pipette tips
A storage box for plastic pipette tips that has a frame part with two longitudinal walls and two transverse walls that enclose an interior space laterally. The storage box has a support plate arranged on the upper side of the frame part with a large number of bearing openings that plastic pipette tips can be inserted. The storage box also includes a pipette tip contact piece on the underside of the frame part for contacting a plastic pipette tip inserted into one of the bearing openings.
Holder, a set of parts, and a method of manipulating holders of laboratory consumables
According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided a holder for disposable pipette tips, the holder comprising: two pairs of opposing lateral sidewalls, each sidewall comprises an outer surface, an inner surface, an upper edge and a lower edge, and two lateral edges; the sidewalls are joined to each other via their lateral edges; a plate comprising a matrix of openings, connected to the upper edges of the sidewalls; means for locking the holder on top of another holder to form a stack of holders; wherein the locking is configured to be released by applying a force to said means for locking from above the stack of holders.
PIPETTE TIP WASHING DEVICE
A washing device comprises a manifold dispenser comprising at least one liquid input and a plurality of liquid outputs that operably direct fluid to contact a plurality of laboratory consumables held by a rack in the washing device. A number of the plurality of liquid outputs being at least equal to a number of the plurality of laboratory consumables such that each liquid output of the plurality of liquid outputs operably directs the liquid at a corresponding laboratory consumable of the plurality of laboratory consumables.
PIPETTE TIP DISPOSAL ASSEMBLY
There is provided a pipette tip disposal assembly. The assembly comprises a receiving element adapted to support an end of at least one pipette tip, the at least one pipette tip being toppled in use from the receiving element along a first direction; and a container positioned to receive the at least one toppled pipette tip, the at least one pipette tip falling towards a base of the container on being received by the container. The base of the container has a first linear dimension aligned with the first direction corresponding to the length of a pipette tip.
RIGIDIFIED PIPETTE TIP TRAY
Provided herein is a pipette tip tray that includes a base and a connected pipette tip receptacle plate, where the base includes a plurality of axially-disposed base ribs disposed on two or more internal wall surfaces, the pipette receptacle plate includes a plurality of plate ribs disposed on the distal surface of the plate, and a portion of at least a subset of the plate ribs is in contact with at least a portion of an end of at least a subset of the base ribs.
SAMPLE PROCESSING
A method for automated processing of a sample using a first pipette tip container (110) having a first pipette tip comprises the steps of: removing the first pipette tip (160) from the first pipette tip container (110); feeding the sample into the first pipette tip container (110); processing the sample in the first pipette tip container (110). A rack (100) comprises at least one first pipette tip container (110) having a first pipette tip (160), wherein the rack (100) comprises means for identifying an alignment of an orientation of the rack (100) in a rack receptacle of an apparatus for automated processing of a sample. A transport arrangement comprises at least two racks (100), wherein at least one bottom region of a pipette tip container (110) of a first rack (100) is in direct contact with a releasable covering, in particular a tear-off film of a second rack (100).
PIPETTE TIP STATIC-DEFEATING DEVICE
Provided in part herein are static-defeating apparatus for use in multipipettor systems. Multiple pipette tips can be retained by a static-defeating sheet of material. A multipipettor, having multiple pipettes or nozzles, can engage the pipette tips retained by the sheet. After use, the multipipettor can eject the pipette tips, which sometimes are ejected as a single unit due to the pipette tips being retained by the sheet. In certain embodiments, an apparatus includes a snap plate having one or more holes, and a base rack for ease of mounting.
Pipetting device, pipette tip coupler, and pipette tip: devices and methods
Pipette tip couplers, pipette tips, coupler and tip combinations, and methods for coupling and decoupling a pipette tip to or from, respectively, a pipette tip coupler mounted on a pipette device. The pipette tip couplers include an elastomeric element, an annular crown shaped raceway, and a coupler stop shoulder surface. The pipette tips include a groove in a first cylindrical section, a second cylindrical section, a tip stop shoulder surface at the interface of the first and second cylindrical sections, a third cylindrical section, a sealing seat surface at the interface of the second and third cylindrical sections, and a fourth section adjacent to the third cylindrical section. When the pipette tip is mounted on the pipette tip coupler, the annular crown shaped raceway abuts the tip groove, the coupler stop shoulder surface abuts the tip stop shoulder surface, and the elastomeric element abuts the sealing seat surface.
Rack positioning system
A positioning system for positioning a consumable rack in a diagnostic system is disclosed. The positioning system comprises a rack comprising an upper surface comprising holding positions and a receiving compartment comprising a rectangular chassis comprising front, rear, and two lateral sides. The receiving compartment comprises a holding structure coupled to the chassis to move between first and second positions. The rack comprises sidewalls. At least three sidewalls have a center alignment element. The chassis comprises three chassis alignment elements on the rear and two lateral sides. The holding structure comprises a corner push element between the chassis front and lateral sides to push against a side edge of the rack between two sidewalls when the holding structure is moved from the first position towards the second position forcing the three alignment elements against a chassis alignment element and laterally holding the rack in position by the chassis alignment elements.
