The apparatus further comprises at least one functional unit comprising a functional unit coupling member configured to reversibly couple with the isolator coupling member, thereby reversibly coupling the functional unit and the isolator. The apparatus further comprises at least one sealing member, configured to create an airtight seal between the isolator and functional unit coupling members when they are coupled; and at least one locking member, configured to secure the functional unit to the isolator when the isolator and functional unit are coupled. The apparatus is characterised in that when the functional unit is not secured to the isolator it is removable therefrom.
HAZARDOUS CONTAMINANT COLLECTION KIT AND RAPID TESTING
Contamination detection systems, kits, and techniques are described for testing surfaces for the presence of hazardous contaminants, while minimizing user exposure to these contaminants. Even trace amounts of contaminants can be detected. A collection kit provides a swab that is simple to use, easy to hold and grip, allows the user to swab large areas of a surface, and keeps the user's hands away from the surface being tested. The kit also provides open and closed fluid transfer mechanism to transfer the collected fluid to a detection device while minimizing user exposure to hazardous contaminants in the collected fluid. Contamination detection kits can rapidly collect and detect hazardous drugs, including trace amounts of antineoplastic agents, in healthcare settings at the site of contamination.
CARTRIDGE FOR AN ANALYSIS METHOD WHICH IS ROTATION-BASED AND UTILIZES ONE-SIDED HEAT INPUT, AND ROTATION-BASED ANALYSIS METHOD
The invention relates to a cartridge for an analysis method which is rotation-based and utilizes one-sided heat input. The cartridge has a planar main body in which a microfluidic channel-and-chamber structure is formed, with channels interconnecting multiple process chambers, a number of positioning and/or fastening elements, formed in the main body, for positioning and/or fastening the main body on/to a support plate of an analyzer for carrying out the analysis method, and a cover body which is fastened to the main body and which is one-sidedly arranged on a top side of the main body that faces away from a heat input side and which covers at least a chamber.
MODULAR DRUG PRODUCTION SYSTEM
A portable system for producing a formulation comprising lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-encapsulated RNA includes: a first sub-system comprising multiple drug substance formulation modules, the first sub-system comprising: a transcription module for forming an RNA solution via in vitro transcription; and a second sub-system operatively downstream of the first sub-system comprising multiple drug product formation modules, the second sub-system comprising: an LNP formulation module for producing a first RNA-LNP preparation from the RNA solution, wherein each of the transcription module and the LNP formulation module is contained within a separate standard shipping container.
Sample preparation, processing and analysis systems
This disclosure provides an integrated and automated sample-to-answer system that, starting from a sample comprising biological material, generates a genetic profile in less than two hours. In certain embodiments, the biological material is DNA and the genetic profile involves determining alleles at one or a plurality of loci (e.g., genetic loci) of a subject, for example, an STR (short tandem repeat) profile, for example as used in the CODIS system. The system can perform several operations, including (a) extraction and isolation of nucleic acid; (b) amplification of nucleotide sequences at selected loci (e.g., genetic loci); and (c) detection and analysis of amplification product. These operations can be carried out in a system that comprises several integrated modules, including an analyte preparation module; a detection and analysis module and a control module.
Modular reagent plate and reagent vessel kit
The present invention provides a modular reagent plate, comprising: a support rack comprising a frame and one or more separators, wherein two ends of each separator are respectively connected to the frame; and a base comprising a frame body, wherein the support rack is disposed on the frame body of the base and can be detachably combined with the base. A reagent vessel kit is also provided by assembling a reagent vessel to the above-described modular reagent plate. Unnecessary waste of reagent vessels can be avoided according to the present invention.
FLUIDIC COMPONENT AND FLUIDIC ACCESS CONTROL DEVICE
A fluidic component including a fluidic circuit having at least one fluidic access through which a fluid is intended to pass, an actuator capable of expanding, a deformable membrane that can be actuated by the expansion of the actuator, sealing device for sealing off the fluidic access and including at least a body made of a meltable compound configured to adopt two states: a solid first state, a molten second state obtained under the effect of an increase in temperature, the body of meltable compound being designed to be moved in the molten state, by the expansion of the actuator, between a standby position and a distinct sealing-off position for sealing off the fluidic access.
FLUIDIC COMPONENT AND DEVICE OF FLUIDIC VALVE TYPE FOR SEALING OFF
A fluidic component intended to be associated with a heating module and in which there is formed a fluidic circuit including a fluidic channel intended for the circulation of a fluid, the fluidic channel including at least one passage for the fluid and a widened portion forming a location produced at the periphery of the passage, the component including a fluidic valve mechanism including at least an actuating element capable of expanding, trapped by at least one body made of a meltable compound in the location.
Fluidic cartridges, systems, and methods for conducting biochemical reactions
Fluidic cartridge including a liquid container having a reservoir configured to hold a liquid. The liquid container includes an interior surface. The fluidic cartridge also includes a transfer tube that extends from the interior surface to a distal end. The distal end includes a fluidic port that is in flow communication with the reservoir through the transfer tube. The transfer tube has a piercing segment that includes the distal end. The fluidic cartridge also includes a movable seal that is engaged to the piercing segment of the transfer tube and configured to slide along the piercing segment from a closed position to a displaced position during a mating operation. The movable seal blocks flow of the liquid through the fluidic port when in the closed position. The piercing segment extends through the movable seal when in the displaced position.
Cartridge for use in a system for delivery of a payload into a cell
A cartridge for delivering a payload to cells of a cell suspension is provided, wherein the cartridge comprises an input channel that delivers the cell suspension to a first plurality of branch channels, and wherein the first plurality of branch channels each deliver the cell suspension into a respective one or a plurality of microfluidic chips or filters. Cell suspension exiting a microfluidic chip or filter flows into a respective one of a second plurality of branch channels, and is then delivered to an output channel by which it exits the cartridge. The cartridge may comprise a plurality of removable covers that hold the chips or filters in place against a body of the cartridge in which the input channel, output channel, and branch channels are formed.
