Devices and Methods for Particle Mixing
A method for preparing for preparing a solution comprising a plurality of particles in a vial is disclosed. The method includes agitating the vial at a first predetermined mixing speed. The method also includes dispersing, into the vial, during the agitating, a first volume of buffer solution at a first predetermined dispensing rate to suspend the plurality of particles in the solution, wherein particles of the plurality of particles comprise a unique identifying feature.
FLUID SEPARATOR FOR POINT OF CARE MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS
The present disclosure provides devices and methods using Plasma coil r separating a fluid—e.g., plasma or serum—from whole blood. In some embodiments, the devices and methods use hydrophobic or superhydrophobic surfaces to encourage whole blood to contact a selective membrane that extracts the desired fluid component from the blood.
Operation method of multiplex slide plate device
An operation method of a multiplex slide plate device is provided. First, the multiplex slide plate device is assembled, including a slide plate, a sacrificial layer and a housing. The slide plate has reaction vessels, and the sacrificial layer has a microfluidic channel composed of an injection channel, a main channel and a distal channel. A sample solution is injected to the injection channel, such that the sample solution flows from the injection channel through the main channel to the distal channel, wherein the sample solution loads into the reaction vessels. Afterwards, an oil is injected to the injection channel, such that the oil flows from the injection channel through the main channel to the distal channel, wherein the oil removes the sample solution not loaded into the reaction vessels. Next, the sacrificial layer is heated to melt, and the melted sacrificial layer is mixed with the oil.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR SORTING TARGET PARTICLES
This disclosure provides methods and apparatuses for sorting target particles. In various embodiments, the disclosure provides a cassette for sorting target particles, methods for sorting target particles, methods of loading a microchannel for maintaining sample material viability, methods of quantifying sample material, and an optical apparatus for laser scanning and particle sorting.
Microfluidic guillotine for splitting cellular structures
Splitting of biological samples is provided by flowing the samples through a flow splitter where the sample strikes a stationary blade and is split into two pieces that end up in separate output channels. Samples can be single cells or multi-cellular samples. The split ratio of the pieces can be 50:50 or it can be other values as determined by design. To first order, the split ratio of the pieces is the same as the split ratio of the fluid flows in the output channels.
Lateral flow assay housing with integrated sample and buffer solution delivery and measurement
A lateral flow assay (LFA) device includes a capillary pad and a sample port that holds the sample fluid before a hole is made in a cavity surface of the sample port. The LFA device includes a breaker with a tip to make a hole in the cavity wall of the sample port causing the sample fluid held inside the compartment to be applied to the capillary pad after the start of a test.
Kits for stabilizing analytes in urine samples at room temperature
Disclosed here are kits comprising pre-packed stabilizing solutions for stabilizing combinations of biomarkers at room temperature. Such kits can be better adapted for sample collection at a subject's dwelling, thus easing the burdensome requirement of sample collection.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVED PERFORMANCE OF FLUIDIC AND MICROFLUIDIC SYSTEMS
Systems and methods for improved flow properties in fluidic and microfluidic systems are disclosed. The system includes a microfluidic device having a first microchannel, a fluid reservoir having a working fluid and a pressurized gas, a pump in communication with the fluid reservoir to maintain a desired pressure of the pressurized gas, and a fluid-resistance element located within a fluid path between the fluid reservoir and the first microchannel. The fluid-resistance element includes a first fluidic resistance that is substantially larger than a second fluidic resistance associated with the first microchannel.
MINI-PIPETTE
The present invention relates to a mini-pipette, and more particularly, to a mini-pipette which has capacity varying means that can vary the movement distance of a push button reciprocating in the outer body to generate suction force so that a variety of samples can be easily collected. The present invention provides a mini-pipette comprising: an outer body having a hollow movement space and a suction passage formed at a lower part of the outer body; a push button for generating negative or positive pressure in the suction passage while reciprocating in the movement space of the outer body; elastic means for elastically supporting the push button in the movement space; and a capacity varying means formed inside the outer body, for varying a movement distance of the push button in the movement space.
Fluidic devices and systems for sample preparation or autonomous analysis
The present invention relates to fluidic devices for preparing, processing, storing, preserving, and/or analyzing samples. In particular, the devices and related systems and methods allow for preparing and/or analyzing samples (e.g., biospecimen samples) by using one or more of capture regions and/or automated analysis.
