Compact testing device
A lateral flow testing device includes a main body adapted to support an element for collecting a sample. The element is supported at a distal end of the testing device and is in fluid communication with one or more testing components having an analyte detection zone for detecting one or more analytes present in said sample. The testing components produce visual information related to said sample, thereby informing the user of the outcome of a test. The device incorporates a handle reconfigurable with respect to said main body such that in a first handle configuration, the handle hinders sight of the visual information to improve privacy of the test, and in a second handle configuration, the handle facilitates the collection of said sample by increasing a distance between a proximal end of the testing device and the element.
Ergonomic fluid handling tubes
Provided herein are fluid handling tubes having a cap that includes a sealing member having interior grooves and panels. Also provided herein are fluid handling tubes having a cap that includes (i) a sealing member having a concave surface at a distal region, and (ii) a flat proximal surface. Provided also are fluid handling tubes having a cap that includes an engagement member at an edge of the cap, where the engagement member includes a surface having curvature and a taper. Also provided herein are fluid handling tubes that include a cap comprising a tube sealing member, an anterior engagement member, and one or more channels (e.g., one or more furrows or grooves) between the sealing member and the engagement member that function as a hinge or pivot. Also provided are fluid handling tubes that include (i) a cap having a sealing member that includes an annular protrusion, and (ii) a tube body having an interior surface that includes an annular recess, where the annular recess in the tube body is configured to receive the annular protrusion of the tubular sealing member of the cap.
REAGENT CARTRIDGE
Provided is a reagent cartridge that can reduce the risk of infection caused by an operator touching a sample or the like during dispensation of the sample or handling of the reagent cartridge, can shorten the test time by improving the work efficiency, and can positively perform analysis of the sample. A reagent cartridge used for an analysis apparatus that analyzes a result based on the reaction of a sample and a reagent includes a sample containing part that contains the sample, a reagent containing part that contains the reagent, and an antibody containing part that contains the antibody, wherein the sample containing part, the reagent containing part, the antibody containing part, and the sample containing part are arranged on the same surface, and the sample containing part includes an injection part and a liquid suction part.
System and apparatus for driving antenna
A multiple-antenna positioning system with a single drive element, providing reduced weight and complexity over systems that have a drive element for each antenna. In certain examples, each antenna can be coupled with a rotating spindle, with each antenna spindle being coupled with a pair of link arms. By driving a single drive spindle, each of the antenna spindles in the system can be rotated by the associated pair of link arms. The link arms can have an adjustable length, such as through a turnbuckle mechanism, to reduce backlash in the system, and in some examples can apply a preload to the system. By reducing backlash, the multiple antenna positioning system can have improved responsiveness to a rotation of the single drive element, as well as improved stability of the positioning of each antenna when the drive element is held in a fixed position.
Transport structure for a plurality of vials for pharmaceutical, medical or cosmetic use, sterile packaging structure and process for processing vials
A transport structure for accommodating a plurality of vials for pharmaceutical, medical or cosmetic use under non-sterile conditions is formed by an accommodation member and by a bearing member releasably connected thereto. The accommodation member comprises a plurality of frustro-conical receptacles in a regular arrangement so that the vials can be accommodated upright and while preventing a direct contact between adjacent vials in the receptacles of the accommodation member. The transport structure comprises latching structures for releasable latching of the accommodation member with the bearing member. According to the disclosure, the receptacles are matched to the height of the vials in such a manner that the vials can be completely accommodated therein, wherein the bearing member is formed by a base plate having a flat supporting surface facing the receptacles, so that the vials can be freely displaced on the supporting surface of the base plate after releasing the latching and can be pushed from the bearing member by displacement of the accommodation member relative to the bearing member. The accommodation member and/or the bearing member can be formed in one piece by thermoforming a plastic material, in particular by deep-drawing a thin film or a thin film plate.
Modular mobile field-deployable laboratory for rapid, on-site detection and analysis of biological targets
A mobile field-deployable laboratory to more conveniently enable the detecting, sequencing and analyzing of biological agents at the point-of-need. This device enables field operators to go from sample to actionable information in the field without the need for an internet connection or grid-based power. The present mobile laboratory is configured in a footlocker configuration including a plurality of different compartments specifically configured for holding all of the necessary equipment for use in a wide variety of different applications including successfully extracting, amplifying, sequencing and characterizing specific viruses, pathogens and other bacteria directly in the field including an integrated power supply for providing power to the relevant components for up to 72 hours of continuous use without the need for any external power source. The present mobile laboratory includes a deployable workbench area which provides a stable workstation when the footlocker configuration is deployed.
PIPETTING DEVICE
A pipetting device for taking up and dispensing volumes of fluid, which has an ejector mechanism which is actuable by means of an actuating means to eject or release a pipette tip plugged onto the pipetting device. The pipetting device has a coupling mechanism which is configured such that, in the unactuated state, actuating means and ejector mechanism are decoupled, and, when the actuating means is actuated, the latter is coupled to the ejector mechanism, causing a force exerted on the actuating means to transfer to the ejector mechanism. Also, the pipetting device can have a positioning mechanism which, when a pipette tip is not plugged on and the actuating means is unactuated, holds an ejector means, of the ejector mechanism in a basic position which is located between an ejection position and a plug-on position with a pipette tip plugged on.
ELECTRONIC PIPETTE
An electronic pipette comprising a piston actuated in a cylinder by a motor, a control system for carrying out pipette operations, and a user interface for operating the pipette, wherein the user interface comprises at least one touch screen for operating the pipetting operations of the pipette, which touch screen comprises at least one touching or pressing area for operating the pipetting operations of the pipette. The invention also relates to a method for operating an electronic pipette and a use of a touch screen as a part of a user interface of an electronic pipette for operating the pipetting operations of the pipette.

Test tube suspender
Disclosed is a test tube rack designed to hold a plurality of test tubes suspended in a bath. The rack is a unitary design having an outer rim with an internal diameter sized to fit over a rim of a vessel that forms the bath. The rack includes a plurality of openings sized to fit a test tube. A top end of each opening includes a plurality of raised portions and a plurality of lowered portions. The raised portions support an outwardly flared rim of a test tube placed in the opening and thus suspends the test tube in the vessel. A central hub joins the plurality of openings together. The rack is formed from a temperature resistant material and can be utilized with both cold and hot baths. The rack is economical and readily scalable to work in conjunction with a variety of vessel sizes.
