CASSETTE FOR PRESERVATION OF NATURAL AND BIOENGINEERED TISSUES
Described herein are cassettes and methods for using these cassettes for cryopreserving biomaterials (e.g., a bioengineered construct or natural tissue sample) by vitrification while reducing or preventing the loss of viability associated with conventional preservation methods.
LARGE AREA SURFACE SAMPLER WITH INVERTIBLE BAG
Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed which relate to using a use large area surface sampler with invertible bag for collection of biological and non-biological particles prior to subsequent analysis. The large area surface sampler with invertible bag uses an inverted bag with bonded sampling material to first serve as a sampling device followed by the bag being turned right side out and the captured particles being extracted inside of the bag. The device includes measures for sealing liquid in the sampling material using a protective cup at time of manufacture. This enables users to simply remove the protective cup and perform wet surface sampling prior to turning the bag right side out and removing captured particles from the sampling material with repeated compressions. The described device, systems and methods allow users to capture and elute surface samples for human clinical, veterinary, food safety, pharmaceutical, outbreak investigations, forensics, biodefense and bioterrorism response, environmental monitoring, and other applications where collection of samples from surfaces and humans or animals is required.
Methods for application specific access control
A method implemented on a UE includes determining an application class of an application, and permitting or barring access by the application to a communication network according to a comparison of the determined application with a rule to provide application class based access control. The application is classified into the determined application class. The application is classified into the determined application class by a home network. The application is classified into the determined application class by a 3GPP layer. The application is classified into the determined application class by a visited network. The visited network classifies the application into a further application class. The rule includes a list of applications for permitting or barring access by the applications according to the comparison of the determined application class with the rule.
Methods of in situ antigen retrieval of a biological sample and imaging thereof
The invention relates to a device and method for in situ temperature-induced antigen retrieval of samples wherein all steps are performed under a pressure higher than the atmospheric pressure on a sample immobilized on a sample support which can be further subjected to staining and imaging on the same sample support, optionally by cycle multiplexing that enables imaging of various molecular targets through multi-molecular read-outs on the same sample in a rapid, highly sensitive and reliable manner.
THERMAL CYCLER SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USE
A thermal cycler system comprises a sample block configured to receive a sample holder configured to receive a plurality of samples; an adaptor configured to surround a periphery of the sample block; and a drip pan configured to surround a periphery of the adaptor. The drip pan comprises one or more ejector mechanisms and one or more openings, the one or more ejector mechanisms configured to respectively extend through the one or more openings into contact with the sample holder in a state of the sample holder received by the sample block and the adaptor surrounding the periphery of the sample block.
MULTI-AXIS SPECIMEN IMAGING DEVICE WITH EMBEDDED ORIENTATION MARKERS
A specimen holding and positioning apparatus operable to substantially non-movably maintain a specimen (e.g., an excised tissue specimen) in a fixed or stable orientation with respect to the apparatus during imaging operations (e.g., x-ray imaging), transport (e.g., from a surgery room to a pathologist's laboratory), and the like for use in facilitating accurate detection and diagnosis of cancers and/or other abnormalities of the specimen.
AUTOMATION COMPATIBLE REMOVABLE LIDS AND METHODS OF USE
Automation compatible removable lids are provided. The removable lids include a top surface surrounded by a peripheral rim. The removable lids further include septal portions configured to receive an extractor, such as a pipette tip, inserted therethrough. The septal portions are further configured to grip the extractor to facilitate lid removal.
TESTING EQUIPMENT SYSTEM
A testing equipment system collects a specimen from a subject and measures the specimen, and includes a first unit portion forming a collection room including equipment to collect the specimen, a second unit portion forming a measurement room including equipment to measure the specimen, separately from the collection room, and a third unit portion including equipment to output a measurement result. The testing equipment system is placed at a moving base for passenger transportation.
Materials transport device for diagnostic and tissue engineering applications
Devices that can transport biological materials are described. The devices incorporate capillary channeled fibers that can effectively transport living cells as well as other biological materials such as nutrients, growth factors, waste materials, etc. The devices can include a sorptive material at one end of the fibers that can improve transport of materials through the devices. The devices can differentially transport different cell types, particularly when the fibers are held in a vertical orientation. Diagnostic devices that incorporate the capillary channeled fibers are described that can be utilized to separate cell types from one another. Tissue engineering scaffolds that incorporate the capillary channeled fibers are described that can more efficiently transport materials into and out of the scaffolds.
Cryogenic vial assemblies
Vial assemblies comprise a tubular body and a cap, the cap including a first portion configured to abut a lip of an open end of the tubular body, a threaded portion configured to couple to threading on an internal surface of the tubular body, and a second portion protruding from the threaded portion and extending into a cavity of the tubular body. Methods for storing and removing frozen samples from such vial assemblies are also described.
