LAMINATE FLUIDIC CIRCUIT FOR A FLUID CARTRIDGE
An apparatus includes a fluid reservoir and a laminate fluidic circuit positioned above the fluid reservoir. The laminate fluidic circuit includes two or more layers laminated together to define a substantially planar substrate and one or more channels defined within the substrate. The laminate fluidic circuit includes a flexible conduit defined by a portion of the substrate encompassing an extent of at least one of the channels that is partially separated or separable from the remainder of the substrate. The flexible conduit is deflectable with respect to the planar substrate toward the fluid reservoir such that the flexible conduit fluidly connects the at least one channel to the fluid reservoir.
SAMPLE COLLECTION DEVICE AND METHODS OF USING SAME
Described herein are various inventions and embodiments thereof, directed to systems, devices, and methods for separating a sample. Embodiments of sample collection devices disclosed herein may maintain separation of different volumes of sample during collecting, handling, and accessing of the sample. A sample collection device, in some embodiments, may comprise an enclosure defining a first chamber, a second chamber, and a partition therebetween configured to separate the first chamber and the second chamber. An assembly coupled to the partition may be configured to transition between an open configuration and a closed configuration based on fluid and gas flow through the assembly.
REAGENT HOLDER, TESTING APPARATUS ASSEMBLY, AQUEOUS HUMOR COLLECTION DEVICE AND AQUEOUS HUMOR COLLECTION METHOD
Disclosed are a reagent holder, a testing apparatus assembly, an aqueous humor collection device and an aqueous humor collection method. The reagent holder (9) comprises a holder body and a functional station arranged on the holder body, wherein the functional station comprises a fluid holding tube insertion hole (91) and an elastic component. The elastic component can elastically act on a fluid holding tube (106) in the case where the fluid holding tube (106) is inserted into the liquid holding tube insertion hole (91) so as to enable the fluid holding tube (106) to elastically move in the direction of the central axis of the hole of the fluid holding tube insertion hole (91). By means of using the reagent holder to elastically fix the fluid holding tube (106), the rigid collision between a fluid drawing device and a bottom wall of the fluid holding tube (106) can be converted into an elastic collision, so as to prevent a testing apparatus from triggering a firing pin protection function during the fluid drawing process, such that the depth to which the fluid drawing device can extend into the tube cavity of the fluid holding tube (106) is greatly increased, and the sample extraction amount is thus effectively increased.
INSTRUMENT FOR PERFORMING A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON A FLUIDIC CARTRIDGE
Instrument for performing a diagnostic test on a fluidic cartridge A cartridge reader is for carrying out a diagnostic test on a sample contained in a fluidic cartridge inserted into the reader. The fluidic cartridge comprises a fluidic layer comprising at least one sample processing region, at least one collapsible blister containing a liquid reagent, a pneumatic interface, an electrical interface and at least one mechanical valve. The reader comprises a housing; an upper clamp occupying a fixed position relative to the reader, and a lower clamp, movable relative to the first clamp, wherein the upper clamp and the lower clamp define a cartridge receiving region therebetween. The reader comprises a thermal module comprised in the lower clamp, wherein the thermal module comprises at least one thermal stack for heating the at least one sample processing region of the cartridge inserted into the reader. The reader comprises at least one mechanical actuator for actuating the mechanical valve comprised in the cartridge inserted into the reader.
Reagent Mixer and Fluid Control Devices
An apparatus for preparing a reagent solution includes an enclosure and a container disposed within the enclosure. The container defines an internal cavity having a compressible volume and defines a passage providing fluidic communication between the internal cavity and the exterior of the container. Optionally, a compressible member is disposed within the internal cavity. A reagent is disposed within the internal cavity.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GMR-BASED DETECTION OF BIOMARKERS
A system for detecting analytes in a test sample, and a method for processing the same, is provided. The system includes a cartridge reader unit that has a control unit and a pneumatic system, and a cartridge assembly that prepares the samples with mixing material(s) through communication channels. The assembly has a memory chip with parameters for preparing the sample and at least one sensor. The assembly, pneumatic system, and control unit operate together to prepare the sample and provide the prepared sample to the sensor for detecting analytes, and also process measurements from the sensor to generate test results.
Melting device and melting method
A melting device is provided that melts a bio-derived frozen product contained in a container including a heat transfer section comprising at least two heating bags, each of which is filled with a heating liquid and is capable of sandwiching the container between the at least two heating bags and a suction mechanism that sucks air from a space between the at least two heating bags and surrounding the container.
Biological entity separation device and method of use
The current invention generally relates to apparatus and method to analyze and separate biological entities, including cells, bacteria and molecules from human blood, body tissue, body fluid and other human related biological samples. The claimed apparatus and method analyze, or detect, biological entities based on optical signals received from said entities by using optical detectors. The claimed apparatus and method further separate biological entities with using micro-actuator activated sorting devices.
