Systems and devices for analysis of samples
Systems and methods for analysis of samples, and in certain embodiments, microfluidic sample analyzers configured to receive a cassette containing a sample therein to perform an analysis of the sample are described. The microfluidic sample analyzers may be used to control fluid flow, mixing, and sample analysis in a variety of microfluidic systems such as microfluidic point-of-care diagnostic platforms. Advantageously, the microfluidic sample analyzers may be, in some embodiments, inexpensive, reduced in size compared to conventional bench top systems, and simple to use. Cassettes that can operate with the sample analyzers are also described.
Self-contained slide processing unit for biological specimens
Systems and methods for processing biological specimens are provided. The biological specimen processing system generally includes a flow cell carrier for holding a microfluidic flow cell and a fluidic handling unit attachable to the flow cell carrier. The fluidic handling unit interfaces with the microfluidic flow cell and can include fluidic pumps, fluidic connections, integrated electronics, and processing software to facilitate processing of a biological specimen contained in the microfluidic flow cell.
Incubation device and system comprising incubation device and rocking platform
An incubation device has multiple rocking platforms with each platform pivotally mounted about a respective axis. Each rocking platform has a respective receiving device for mechanically reversibly receiving a respective incubation channel. The device also has a common drive unit for common respective rocking movements of each platform from a zero position through with a specific angle range as a result of movement of the drive unit. Each rocking platform is coupled to the drive unit via a respective coupling mechanism, and each coupling mechanism elastically and resiliently couples the respective rocking platform to the drive unit, such that when the rocking platform is restrained, despite continuation of the drive movement, the rocking platform remains motionless in a fixed position. After release of the restraint on the rocking platform, the rocking platform resumes the rocking movement with the specific angle range.
REINFORCED COMPONENT FOR CELL CULTIVATION BIOREACTOR
The present invention relates to a bioprocess bag 118 comprising a bag wall defining an enclosed volume for holding biomaterials. The bag wall comprises at least one inlet port 142 and at least one outlet port 146. The bioprocess bag 118 also comprises a tube structure 400 comprising a first opened-end proximate the bag wall and a second distal end, the tube extending into the enclosed volume, and the tube structure 400 comprising a reinforced portion 402 proximate the first opened-end.
Liquid processing module, liquid testing system and testing method
The disclosure is related to a liquid processing module, a liquid testing system and a testing method. The liquid processing module includes a base, a first valve and at least one negative pressure generator. The base has a first groove and at least one first opening. The first opening is connected to the first groove. The first valve is slidably located in the first groove. The negative pressure generator is configured to generate or remove negative pressure at the first opening in response to the first opening and the first groove being connected with each other.
ARRANGEMENT FOR ANALYZING A LIQUID SAMPLE
It is provided an arrangement and a method for measuring at least one constituent of a liquid sample, in particular comprising serum, plasma and/or urine, the arrangement comprising: a first portion adapted to partly delimit a reception space for the sample at a first side and comprising at least one measurement area; a second portion comprising: a reception space wall section, the second portion being coupled to the first portion such that the reception space wall section partly delimits the reception space at a second side; and a sample input cup delimiting a sample input region into which the sample is fillable, wherein the sample input region is in fluid communication with the reception space, wherein the reception space wall section and at least a portion of the sample input cup are integrally formed.
LATERAL FLOW ASSAY WITH CONTROLLED CONJUGATE TIME AND CONTROLLED FLOW TIME
A lateral flow assay device comprising a conjugate pad for receiving a quantity of fluid, and a membrane comprising a test line for determining whether the fluid comprises a target analyte. The device includes an actuator connected to a moving element comprising a shaft or a wheel. A first magnet is connected to the backing of the membrane. Second and third magnets are connected to the moving element. The actuator moves the moving element between first and second positions. In the first position, the opposite poles of the first and second magnets attract each other and maintain a gap between the membrane and the conjugate pad separate. In the second position, the similar poles of the first and third magnets repel each other and close the gap between membrane and the conjugate pad, allowing the fluid to flow from the conjugate pad into the membrane and the test line.
Processing system and method
In accordance with one embodiment, a processing device includes a heated internal wall and a rotating rod positioned within an interior space formed by the heated internal wall. The rotating rod may be hollow and act as an internal heat exchanger. The processing device also includes a plurality of baffles spaced apart from one another along the rotating rod and extending away from the rotating rod towards the heated internal wall. The plurality of baffles or porous, packed basket that rotates with the rotating rod that also may be configured to provide cooling relative to the heated internal wall. The processing device also includes at least one wiper or roller coupled to an edge of at least one of the plurality of baffles or porous, packed basket, coupled to the rotating rod and that contacts the heated internal wall while rotating together with the rotating rod. In another embodiment, a processing device may be used to adsorb reactive gases into a liquid phase while heat is exchanged.
