In one aspect there is provided a jaw crusher including a motor providing a primary power source to a primary hydraulic pump of the jaw crusher, a crusher frame supporting a fixed jaw and a movable jaw defining a crushing chamber therebetween, a cross beam transversely mounted in the crusher frame, a toggle plate extending between the cross beam and the movable jaw, and a hydraulic system having a primary pump line powered by the primary hydraulic pump for moving the movable jaw and clamping the toggle plate. The hydraulic system includes an auxiliary pump powered independently of the primary pump for effecting movement of the movable jaw.

The coupling portion is configurable to adjust the location of the central axis with respect to the shaft axis in order to adjust the eccentricity of the coupling portion with respect to the shaft axis, thereby correspondingly adjusting the oscillatory movement imparted to the movable jaw.

Eddy current brake for a crusher

A braking system for use with a crusher having a moving crushing member and a stationary crushing member. The braking system is positioned and is operable to restrict rotational movement of the moving crushing member. The braking system includes a braking disc or plate and one or more braking yokes that each include a magnetic member, such as a permanent magnet or an electric magnet. The braking disc is formed from an electrically conductive material and is perpendicular to the magnets of the braking yoke. Relative movement between the braking disc and the braking yoke induces an eddy current in the braking disc. The induced eddy current creates a magnetic force that opposes rotational movement of the moving crushing member. The braking system can be used with a compact eccentric crusher to restrict the rotation of a crushing roller during an idle mode.
