A lactation aid is disclosed having an outer layer defining a cavity and a core material located in the cavity, the core material being adapted to be one or more of: heated and cooled. The lactation aid is adapted to be manually rolled over a breast. The lactation aid may include protrusions, which protrusions may be hollow such that core material at least partially extends into the protrusions. A temperature indicator may also be present. The lactation aid may combine three therapeutic components: application of temperature (heating or cooling), movement and compression to breast tissue.

A spherical manual and electromechanically-operated spherical massage implement which facilitates the even application of pressure to the body tissue of a client during massage therapy, including tendons, ligaments, and muscles (e.g. the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and the like). Variations of the invention include vibrating and heating functions, relieve sore and achy muscles, help blood circulation, relieve muscle cramps, loosen tight and knotted muscles, and relieve pressure from the massage therapist's hands.

A vibrating roller that can be used for a stretching regimen/massage after exercise. A user may input a user profile (height, weight, fitness level) and the exercise and intensity level of the vibration desired. The roller can determine the appropriate vibration regime/massage and intensity of vibration and vibration duration that results in an effective recovery from the exercise.

A massage roller apparatus includes a roller ball and a main roller body, which includes upper, lower and middle encasement members. The roller ball is hollow and contains a thermally stable material. The lower encasement member has a first concave opening therein, and an upper edge portion with a first attachment structure. The ring-shaped middle encasement member has a lower portion with a second attachment structure, and an upper portion with a third attachment structure. A hollow opening of the middle encasement member has a first diameter at its upper portion, and has a second diameter, less than the first diameter, at its lower portion. The upper encasement member includes a cup-shaped portion with a second concave opening therein, and also includes a handle at its upper end. A lower portion of the upper encasement member has a fourth attachment structure for selectively connecting to the middle encasement member.

A kit system has a beginning level kit apparatus, an intermediate level kit apparatus, and an advanced kit apparatus. The beginning level kit apparatus has a first derma roller having a head with a plurality of needles each having a length of five tenths millimeters situated thereon. Additionally, the beginning level kit apparatus has a first chemical compound comprising vitamin A.sub.1 at a first potency. The beginning level kit apparatus also has a first red light therapy device that that is configured to emit red light having a wavelength in the range of six hundred ten nanometers to seven hundred nanometers for a predetermined minimum time period of ten minutes. Finally, the beginning level kit apparatus has a beginning level enclosure apparatus that that encloses the first derma roller, the first chemical compound, and the first red light therapy device.

A kit system has a beginning level kit apparatus, an intermediate level kit apparatus, and an advanced kit apparatus. A percussive therapy system includes a percussive therapy device that includes a housing, an electrical source, a motor positioned in the housing, a switch for activating the motor, a push rod assembly operatively connected to the motor and configured to reciprocate in response to activation of the motor, and an attachment configured to be operatively connected to a distal end of the push rod assembly of the percussive massage device and to provide at least one therapeutic effect to a user. The attachment may include at least one of an actuator configured to provide the at least one therapeutic effect to the user and a sensor configured to obtain at least one of biometric data of the user and information regarding operation of the percussive therapy device.

A percussive therapy system includes a percussive therapy device that includes a housing, an electrical source, a motor positioned in the housing, a switch for activating the motor, a push rod assembly operatively connected to the motor and configured to reciprocate in response to activation of the motor, and an attachment configured to be operatively connected to a distal end of the push rod assembly of the percussive massage device and to provide at least one therapeutic effect to a user. The attachment may include at least one of an actuator configured to provide the at least one therapeutic effect to the user and a sensor configured to obtain at least one of biometric data of the user and information regarding operation of the percussive therapy device.

Disclosed are a thermotherapeutic apparatus having a function of measuring a heart rate and a method of controlling the same. The thermotherapeutic apparatus includes a pretreatment portion which extracts a ballistocardiogram signal sensed by a weight detecting sensor, a heartbeat signal extractor which extracts a heartbeat signal from the pretreated signal, and a mode performer which performs control to calculate a heart rate on the basis of the extracted heartbeat signal, to determine a massage mode according to the calculated heart rate, and to automatically set a massage pattern, a massage level, and a massage temperature of the corresponding massage mode so as to perform the corresponding massage mode.
