A vertical ball mill includes: a rotor, which is axially and radially supported at an upper end; a stator, which radially extends around the rotor, stands in a self-supporting manner and has a lateral surface that is oriented tangentially to the rotor; and a base plate supporting the weight of the stator. The stator includes least two stator segments, which may be separated from one another, stand unsupported in the separated state and may be moved relative to one another; wherein each of the stator segments has, on at least one side edge of a wall which forms the lateral surface, a sealing surface for sealing to the other stator segment, and has, on the bottom edge, a standing surface for sealing to the base plate; wherein the stator segment standing surface weighs on a load-bearing surface of the base plate.
Wear sensing liner
A wear sensing liner for a comminution apparatus. The wear sensing liner comprising: a liner body comprising; a wear surface side defining a wear surface; and an opposed, operatively rear surface side; and at least one sensor carried by the liner body. The at least one sensor being carried by the liner body to sense wear of the wear surface side of the liner body. The at least one sensor being configured to degrade in response to wear of the wear surface side of the liner body and to output a signal representative of the wear of the wear surface side of the liner body.
Liner bolt
A liner bolt (10) comprising an elongate stud (12) and a head (14) engageable with a first end (16) of the stud (12). The head (14) including an inwardly tapered first end portion (24) adjacent a first end (21) thereof. A threaded portion (18) is provided adjacent a second end (17) of the stud for receiving a nut (20). The first end (21) of the head (14) includes an inwardly tapered opening (28) having an internal thread (30) and the first end (16) of the stud (12) includes an inwardly tapered end portion (32) having an external thread (34) such that the first end (16) of the stud (12) is engageable in the opening (28) in the head (14).
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECYCLING ASPHALT MILINGS
Apparatus and method for recycling asphalt millings containing bitumen and stone. A milling tube is provided having an outer tube and an inner tube axially aligned with and substantially contained within the outer tube, the inner tube having a diameter less that a diameter of the outer tube to thus define a mixing space between the inner and outer tubes. At least one of the inner and outer tubes is adapted to rotate relative to the other. An inlet is provided to the mixing space to receive the asphalt millings. A plurality of inner tube projections project radially outward from a surface of the inner tube toward the outer tube, and a plurality of outer tube projections project radially inward from a surface of the outer tube toward the inner tube. The milling tube facilitates the separation of the asphalt millings into bitumen and stone as one of the inner and outer tubes rotates relative to the other. Preferably, at least one of the outer and inner tubes contains an abrasive coating on a surface thereof, the inner tube projections and outer tube projections are comprised of wire rope, and an inlet is provided in the outer tube through which cold air can be applied to the mixing space.
Mill liner removal system
The present disclosure relates to a method of removing a liner from a mill, the liner fastened to a mill shell by at least one liner bolt, the method including: (a) driving the at least one liner bolt through the mill shell until it becomes retained in the liner, whereby in a retained position, a head of the at least one liner bolt is exposed so as to project proud of the liner towards an interior of the mill; (b) engaging a tool onto the at least one liner bolt; and, (c) lifting the liner away from the mill shell using the tool to thereby enable the liner to be removed from the mill. A system for removing a liner from a mill and tool for use in removing a liner from a mill are also described.
LINER ASSEMBLY FOR ORE GRINDING MILL
The present invention provides a system and method for more efficient utilization of comminution mills. Sensors are provided in the liners placed within the mill shell. The sensors may include RFID tags, liner wear profile sensors (e.g., such as an ultrasonic sensor), an inertial sensor (preferably included both an inclinometer and an accelerometer, and an acoustic sensor, among others. When the liners are installed in the shell, the RFID tag is used to register the location of the liner within the shell. In operation, the information provided by the sensors is collected by a data transmission unit and sent by transmitter over the air to a computer having an antenna and receiver for such data. The data is correlated and the data is reviewable in real time while the mill is in running.
