ELECTROMAGNETICALLY ACTUATED FLUIDIC VALVES AND SWITCHES
The absence of high efficiency, compact fluidic pumps has until recently blocked the consideration of using hydraulic devices within portable and/or alkaline battery powered consumer and non-consumer products. The higher the functionality and programmability desired for a consumer and/or non-consumer product exploiting a fluidic pump then the more complex the overall fluidic system in terms of the number of actuators, valves, switches etc. within the fluidic system coupled to the one or more fluidic pumps. Accordingly, there exists a requirement to provide compact fluidic valves and switches to support configurability, programmability, and operation of these portable battery-operated consumer and non-consumer devices in conjunction with these newly available high efficiency, compact fluidic pumps. Such fluidic valves and switches should offer high efficiency, have a small footprint, be low complexity for high reliability and ease of manufacture, and low cost.
Devices, systems and methods for reducing motion artifacts during imaging of a neonate
Generally, a system for soothing a baby during imaging by an imaging device is provided. The system can include: a capsule incubator for positioning the baby within the imaging device, the capsule incubator can include: a bottom portion having an inner surface, a bed positioned on top of the inner surface for positioning the baby thereon, and one or more members coupled to the bottom portion that are positioned in a first position to open the capsule incubator and a second position to close the capsule incubator; a vibrational device including a vibrational element that extends from outside of the capsule incubator into the capsule incubator and is coupled to the bed to cause the bed to vibrate with a predetermined vibrational frequency, thus causing the baby to vibrate with the predetermined vibrational frequency.
TREATMENT OF HEADACHE DISORDERS
A method for treatment of a headache disorder in a human subject, including selecting at least one treatment area in the nasal cavity of the human subject, said treatment area being selected from a posterior part of the nasal cavity or an anterior part of the nasal cavity, providing a device including a stimulation member arranged for vibration stimulation of the selected treatment area, and at least one expansion member provided with a channel having a plurality of openings arranged for fluid communication with the stimulation member, introducing the stimulation member into a nasal cavity of the human subject, expanding the stimulation member to a volume such that the stimulation member abuts against the tissue to exert a pressure on tissue of the selected treatment area and bringing the stimulation member to vibrate in the nasal cavity to impart vibrations to the selected treatment area, wherein the vibrations are imparted to a posterior part of the nasal cavity, to an anterior part of the nasal cavity, sequentially to a posterior and an anterior part of the nasal cavity; or simultaneously to a posterior and an anterior part of the nasal cavity.

Aircraft seat assembly including a vibration producing apparatus and method for fabricating the same
An aircraft seat assembly for supporting a seat occupant, and a method for fabricating an aircraft seat assembly for supporting a seat occupant are provided. In one non-limiting example, the aircraft seat assembly includes a seat cushion supported by the seat structure. A vibration producing apparatus configured to produce vibrations conducive for inducing drowsiness. The vibration producing apparatus is disposed adjacent to or within the seat structure for transferring the vibrations to the seat occupant.
SYSTEM, AN APPARATUS, AND A METHOD FOR TREATING A SEXUAL DYSFUNCTIONAL FEMALE PATIENT
There is disclosed an apparatus, a system and a method for treating a sexual dysfunctional female patient. The apparatus comprises at least one expandable prosthesis adapted for implantation in female erectile tissue and adapted to be adjusted to temporarily achieve enlarged status of the female erectile tissue.
TREATMENT FORCE APPLICATION DEVICE
A treatment force application device preferably for use on biological tissue includes a proximal end having a weight and having a support for a practitioner; a distal end having a treatment interface configured for applying a therapeutic treatment including at least a treatment force; and a connection between the support and the treatment interface. The connection is lockably adjustable by the practitioner to establish a placement of the treatment interface relative to the support. The weight is sufficient to substantially prevent movement of the treatment interface relative to the support when the connection is locked. The support enables movement of the practitioner to provide a practitioner force, and the practitioner force is transferred from the support to the treatment interface through the connection. The support includes at least one flexible brace against which the practitioner can press to provide the practitioner force. The therapeutic treatment further includes at least one of heat, cold, moisture, vibration, pulsing, ultrasound, radiation, chemicals, and medicine. The treatment interface can be configured for obtaining biometric, treatment, physical, mechanical, force and environmental data related to use of the device.
