Machine for treating infectious waste, in particular medical waste
A machine is provided including a receptacle for loading waste, a shredder, and a pusher to push waste toward the shredder. The receptacle has a constant cross-section between a waste loading opening and a communication opening with the shredder, and the pusher is a plate translatable in the receptacle, parallel to the axis along which the receptacle has the constant cross-section. The plate is dimensioned such that only an interstice exists between the plate edge wall and the walls defining the receptacle; the plate is movable between a withdrawn position able to be freed from said waste loading opening, and an end-of-travel position situated near the communication opening. The machine comprises a sealing gasket movable between a retracted position, which does not hinder the mobility of the plate in the receptacle, and a sealing position, which produces, in the end-of-travel position of the plate, sealing between the plate and the receptacle walls.
Machine for treating infectious waste, in particular medical waste
A machine is provided including a shredder formed by at least two parallel series of contrarotating knives, alternating with counter-knives. The knives are carried by shafts and the edge of each counter-knife facing the opposite knife associated thereto has an arcuate portion. At least one counter-knife has a portion extending above the axis of the shaft and forming an arcuate edge centered on the axis of the other shaft of the shredder, this arcuate edge completing the arcuate portion. The arcuate portion has a notch formed on it, opening into the arcuate edge formed by this arcuate portion, and forming a tip oriented toward the upstream side of the counter-knife.
Quick blade repair and replacement enabled apparatus integrating medical waste crushing and steam treatment
A quick blade repair and replacement enabled apparatus integrating medical waste shredding and sterilization is a dismountable integrally assembled vertical structure. Three chambers, including a loading and stirring, a shredding and a sterilization and discharging chamber are connected into a whole. Two repair gates are respectively on the left and right sides of the shredding chamber, they are designed as a whole together with the rotary blade shaft, when repair and replace the blades, only the repair gates need to be dismounted, and the replacement process can be finished outside the shredding chamber. The stationary blades are pressed on the inner wall of the shredding chamber by using binder plate, and bolts for securing the binder plate are screwed from outside.
Environmentally-friendly medical waste treatment apparatus and method specific to medical institutions
A medical waste treatment device for health-care facility includes a frame, a waste disposal device and a control system; wherein the waste disposal device comprises three or more waste disposal boxes which are arranged in a row; a feeding conveyor belt is disposed at one side of the waste disposal boxes and the feeding conveyor belt extends to positions above each of the waste disposal boxes; the feeding conveyor belt is driven by a motor; each of the waste disposal boxes is provided with a waste label identification component, a pushing component which is configured to push waste container into the waste disposal box, and a sealing component; a feeding access is opened on the top of each of the waste disposal boxes and a discharge access is opened on the bottom of each of the waste disposal boxes; a feeding access control system is provided at each of the feeding access and a discharge access control system is provided at each of the discharge access; a branch conveyor belt is disposed below the discharge access of the waste disposal boxes and a major conveyor belt is disposed adjacent to the branch conveyor belts; the control terminal of the motor, the waste label identification component, the pushing component, the sealing component, the feeding access control system and the discharge access control system are coupled with the central controller of the control system. The medical waste treatment device for health-care facility could avoid the collateral contamination caused by incineration, and further avoid the production of Dioxin. The medical waste treatment device could automatically identify and classify waste containers, and treat medical waste according to its category and then package and seal it.
Pill management device and associated use thereof
A pill management device includes a portable reservoir having a pill-receiving inlet and an access door spaced from the pill-receiving inlet, a pill-crushing mechanism disposed within the reservoir and configured to transform a solid pill, introduced via the pill-receiving inlet, to pill powder, and a locking mechanism in communication with the access door and the pill-receiving inlet for preventing unauthorized access to the pill powder housed within the reservoir. Advantageously, the locking mechanism locks the access door and the pill-receiving inlet.
Thermomechanical decontamination system and method for infectious waste treatment
An infectious waste treatment system and method for decontaminating infectious waste employ a thermal friction extruder in which first and second interleaved counter-rotatable augers include reverse pitch flight sections that urge waste material in a direction opposite to that of the flow stream and into engagement with the back sides of friction plates. This increases the amount of heat generated by the extruder. The reverse pitch flight sections can be selectively replaced with forward pitch flight sections to control the amount of heat imparted to the waste material by the friction plates.
Systems, Apparatuses, And Methods For Rendering Drugs Unusable, Irretrievable, And Suitable For Non-Regulated Waste Disposal
Apparatuses and systems are provided which include one or more receptacles for receiving drugs and further include one or more stored supplies of one or more absorbent materials comprising crosslinkers, wherein the apparatus and systems are adapted to release the absorbent materials comprising crosslinkers into the one or more receptacles. A method is provided which includes depositing a drug into a predetermined amount of fluid and adding to the drug containing fluid a absorbent material comprising crosslinkers which is capable of encapsulating the drug containing fluid and possibly killing infectious materials within the fluid and/or denaturing the drug within the fluid.
Infectious waste treatment system
A method and apparatus for infectious waste treatment. First, the infectious waste may be shredded into a mixture of liquid and shredded solid waste, then the mixture may be poured into a plurality of perforated bags. The liquid waste drips from the perforated bags onto a preheating subsystem and the solid waste remains in the perforated bags. The preheating subsystem heats up the liquid waste to a pre-disinfection temperature. Finally, steam may be utilized to heat up the liquid waste and the solid waste to a disinfecting temperature.
