a sensory system to monitor operation of the infectious healthcare waste collection and treatment device; and

an electronic control unit connected to the sensory system and in communication with the remote control centre to transmit thereto data indicating operation of the infectious healthcare waste collection and treatment device and to receive therefrom and execute commands relating to operation of the infectious healthcare waste collection and treatment device;

the remote control centre is configured to receive and process data from the infectious healthcare waste collection and treatment devices and to monitor, control and report on the operation thereof based on the specific applications and/or users' needs.

INTEGRATED COLLECTION OF INFECTIOUS WASTE AND DISPOSAL THEREOF
20180111176 · 2018-04-26 ·

A system for treating infectious medical waste is provided that includes a collection infrastructure, handling, and a shredding sub-system for feeding partially processed waste to an oxidizer to eliminate potential airborne infectious waste prior to transforming the medical waste into useful co-products. Waste generators of potentially infectious medical waste include, but is not limited to hospitals, medical offices, dental offices, clinics, laboratories, research facilities, veterinarian offices, and emergency medical service providers. The medical waste is collected from the waste generators, transported to a processing site in sealed containers, and transformed into value-added products including hydrocarbon based gases, hydrocarbon-based liquids, and carbonized material in a system proceeded by a negative pressure region and having as a transformative element an anaerobic carbonizer.

TWO STAGE GRINDER PARTICULARLY SUITABLE FOR MEDICAL WASTE DISPOSAL
20180104700 · 2018-04-19 ·

Featured are a two-stage grinder, an apparatus embodying same and methods related thereto. Such a medical waste grinder includes a first stage and a second stage. The first stage includes spring loaded cutter stacks mounted on two adjacent shafts between two edge plates, each of the cutter stacks including cutters arranged in a helix to create space, each cutter including a number of teeth per blade and including a major diameter and a minor diameter, each cutter turning opposite a fixed counter knife enabling a pinching action against the teeth of the cutter. The second stage includes spring loaded cutter stacks.

SMART DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SAFE DISPOSAL OF INFECTIOUS MEDICAL WASTE USING UV LIGHT
20240408252 · 2024-12-12 ·

Efficient and adequate disposal of medical infectious waste is proportional to the reduction of the spread of infectious diseases and the disease itself among humans. The essence of this invention is that infectious medical waste is in a timely, fast, efficient, simple, and environmentally friendly safely disposed of and turned into inert-municipal waste. Previous methods and devices for the disposal of infectious medical waste involved long-term procedures for the collection, sorting and storage of infectious medical waste, which increases the risk of secondary infections. This invention skips the process of collecting, sorting and storing medical infectious waste, and the entire process in the invention takes place in three unbreakable phases whose end product is municipal-inert waste. It is important to emphasize that with this invention, even the smallest amount of infectious medical waste will be disposed of immediately in an appropriate manner. And as a result, a maximum control over all medical infectious waste is achieved.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RECYCLING PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

THERMOMECHANICAL DECONTAMINATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INFECTIOUS WASTE TREATMENT
20170028451 · 2017-02-02 ·

An infectious waste treatment system and method for decontaminating infectious waste employ a thermal friction extruder (20) in which first and second interleaved counter-rotatable augers (40, 42) include reverse pitch flight sections (62, 72) that urge waste material in a direction opposite to that of the flow stream and into engagement with the back sides of friction plates (50, 52). This increases the amount of heat generated by the extruder. The reverse pitch flight sections can be selectively replaced with forward pitch flight sections to control the amount of heat imparted to the waste material by the friction plates.
