The invention is an aero-acoustic comminution apparatus which includes an aero-acoustic comminution machine 10 having a cyclone chamber 12 with an inlet 14 for the material to be comminuted and an inlet 16 for the air. An electric motor 18 coupled to a shaft 20 to which an impeller 22 is coupled rotates the impeller 22 within an impeller housing 24 to draw the air and the entrained material to be comminuted into the cyclone chamber 12 and through an axial inlet system 26 into the impeller 22 and impeller housing 24 and to expel the comminuted material through the impeller housing 24 radially through a transverse outlet. The invention extends to a method of comminuting an ore material using said aero-acoustic comminution apparatus as well as an organic material. The invention further extends to aero-acoustic materials processing plant including said aero-acoustic comminution apparatus and further comprising an enclosure surrounding the aero-acoustic including sound attenuation panels having 4 or more layers which include a plasticised film.

The method comprising a step of comminuting said cannabis plant material to a powder of a preselected particle size distribution (PSD) characterized by 10≤Dv(90)≤100 μm as determined by laser diffraction particle size analysis prior to extraction process. The PSD is preselected in accordance with said cannabis strain and said plant part.

A vortex mill and a milling method for comminuting of a raw particulate material is described. The vortex mill comprises an outer preferably cylindrical casing fitted with an inlet port for supplying a compressed working fluid into the easing. The vortex mill further comprises a milling chamber, which is situated in the casing. The milling chamber is configured for comminuting the particulate solids therein. The milling chamber is delimited by a side wall, by a lower disc and by an opposite upper disc. A central opening is provided in the upper disc and at least one nozzle is arranged in the side wall of the milling chamber such that a compressed working fluid could be supplied from the outer casing trough the at least one nozzle tangentially into the milling chamber. The vortex mill further comprises a discharge collector, which is in fluid communication with the milling chamber via the central opening in the upper disc wall. A feeding tube is provided which is situated co-axially with the milling chamber and is in fluid communication therewith so as to supply the raw particulate material into the milling chamber. The vortex mill further comprises at least one comminuting control component enabling comminuting the raw material such that material with customizable parameters of particle size distribution is produced.

The present invention discloses a device for pulverization and explosion suppression of low carbon gas hydrate (LCGH). A feeding chamber connects with a pulverizing chamber, and the chambers communicate through a feed port. A pulverizing air pipe and the feeding chamber communicate through a feeding air pipe; two ends of a venturi connect with an entrainment chamber and a disperser respectively; and a gas-solid separation membrane (GSSM) is disposed on a discharging port and used for preventing LCGH powder from entering the entrainment chamber from the pulverizing chamber. When an explosion is triggered, the GSSM is opened to make the LCGH powder enter the entrainment chamber. The device can store and pulverize the LCGH and spray LCGH powder to achieve combustion and explosion suppression.

In an axial jet mill, an internal structure having a cylindrical outer surface is positioned within a housing to establish a raceway for the circulating movement of gas and solid material while maintaining the gas and solid material in close proximity to the outlets of gas nozzles distributed around the perimeter of the raceway. Solid material enters the jet mill though a bottom wall of the housing and passes into the raceway though gaps between the bottom of the internal structure and a bottom wall of the housing. Particles and gas exit the jet mill though a central outlet in the housing located above the internal structure.
