Methods and systems for facilitating pollution-free tire recycling processes
A system and method for freezing and breaking down tires or other materials is disclosed. The system and method for freezing and breaking down tires includes using a shredder to shred the tires, using a filter to screen the tire shreds, using a water sprayer to rinse the tire shreds, using a freezing tunnel to freeze the tire shreds before they are crushed into tire grains, using a magnet to remove any metallic fibers, filtering out any oversized tire grains for re-freezing and re-crushing, and using a separator to separate out any oversized or undersized pieces before bagging the final tire grains for re-use and recycling.
Method and apparatus for treating organic matter
An apparatus includes a material feeder having an input and an output, a reducing nozzle attached to the output of the material feeder, an electrically conductive tube having a first end surrounding at least a portion of the reducing nozzle, and an induction coil surrounding all or part of the electrically conductive tube. A method for treating organic matter includes inductively heating the electrically conductive tube using the induction coil, and supplying the organic matter to the input of the material feeder. The organic matter is pushed through the reducing nozzle using the material feeder, such that the organic matter forms a continuous tube, semi-continuous tube or pellets of organic matter that is pushed through the electrically conductive tube. The continuous tube, semi-continuous tube or elongated pellets of organic matter is treated using the heat within the electrically conductive tube.
CARPET WASTE COMPOSITE
A composite material is produced from carpet waste and a binding agent, in intimate association, and may also include wood fiber or chips and/or other additives. A method of manufacturing a composite material includes shredding carpet waste, coating the carpet waste with a binding agent, and subjecting the shredded, coated carpet waste to elevated heat and pressure. As an additional step, the composite material may be actively cooled to prevent deformation of the material.
Preparation of a powdery pharmaceutical composition by means of cryo-milling
A method for the preparation of a powdery pharmaceutical composition composed of a pharmaceutical excipient and a pharmaceutical component, among other possible ingredients, wherein the pharmaceutical excipient is a polyalkylene glycol, the method involving grinding a mixture of the pharmaceutical excipient and the pharmaceutical component at a temperature below ambient temperature.
Method for jet milling and jet mill therefor
A method for jet milling of damp or wet grist in a jet mill, such that at least one of the operating parameters is appropriately selected so that a combined drying and milling process occurs in which, to obtain an end product with predetermined degree of fineness and moisture content. The specific operating mechanism required for milling is selected so that it is greater than or equal to the specific drying requirement, and the end product is released from the jet mill with the predetermined fineness and moisture content. In addition, the invention relates to a jet mill to perform this method, such that adjusting, controlling or regulating devices are foreseen for adjusting, controlling or regulating at least one of the operating parameters.
System and method for disinfecting medical waste
The present disclosure is directed to a system and method for disinfecting medical waste. The method includes shredding the medical waste via a shredder until the medical waste has a predetermined particle size. Further steps include spreading the medical waste onto a heating conveyor and conveying the shredded medical waste through a heating chamber via a heating conveyor. Thus, within the heating chamber, the shredded medical waste is heated via one or more infrared heating elements and at least one additional heating source, e.g. induction heating, such that the medical waste is heated from a plurality of directions. The resulting treated medical waste is biologically inert and clean and can be disposed of in standard commercial garbage or roll-off bins, which are typically located at medical facilities.
Processes for recycling carpet and products of such processes
Methods for the recycling of carpet are disclosed that produce clean face fiber suitable for industrial use. The methods allow the recovery of face fiber material, for example a polyester or a polyamide, from carpets that includes a face fiber material and a backing material, and include the steps of heating the carpet to a temperature lower than the melting point of the face fiber material, but higher than the initial thermal decomposition temperature of the backing material, for a time and at a temperature sufficient to thermally decompose, pyrolyze, or oxidize at least a portion of the backing material, rendering the backing material friable, that is more friable than the untreated backing; and applying mechanical force to the carpet so as to liberate the friable backing material from the face fiber material.
A METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING PLASTIC AND CELLULOSE FROM POST-CONSUMER ABSORBENT SANITARY PRODUCTS
A method for separating plastic and cellulose from post-consumer absorbent sanitary products, comprising: sterilizing successive batches of post-consumer absorbent sanitary products in at least one rotary autoclave, shredding the sterilized absorbent sanitary products and obtaining sterilized and shredded material containing plastic and cellulose, drying the sterilized and shredded material containing plastic and cellulose, and separating cellulose from plastic from said sterilized, shredded and dried material in at least one centrifugal separator.
FILTERING PLATE AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME AND FILTERING DEVICE HAVING THE SAME
A filtering plate and a method for making the same and a filtering device having the same are provided. The filtering plate includes: a plate body, integrally formed of metal as one piece; a plurality of holed units, each holed unit penetrating the plate body and including a big hole and a plurality of small holes communicated with the big hole, the small hole being formed by laser processing and having a first end communicated with the big hole and a second end, the first end being greater than the second end in cross-sectional area.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING ARTIFICIAL TURF
A system and method for processing an artificial turf, and a product produced by the method, is provided. The method includes providing an artificial turf having an infill, separating at least a portion of the infill from the artificial turf, downsizing the artificial turf into artificial turf fragments and rotationally mixing and translating, by a melt system, the artificial turf fragments at a pressure less than a maximum predefined pressure to form a melt. The maximum predefined pressure is between about 0.08-20 bar.
