A waste management system, primarily intended to be for waste floating in water, though it can also be used on land. A shredding device will reduce the size of the particles of waste. Ocean water is removed by a drying device. The dried waste material is cryogenically frozen using liquid nitrogen or other suitable means. The frozen waste material is then pulverized and ground into a powder. The powder may then be sprayed into a gas-filled chamber and heated. Temperature, pressure and humidity are maintained within the chamber for more than one minute. Microwave or other radiation and catalysts may be used to enhance the process of extraction. The processed material is then removed from the chamber. Carbon and water may be recycled. The carbon may be used as fuel by the ship. Water may also be used by the ship or returned to the ocean in a non-toxic condition.

In some embodiments, the methods, kits, and solid substrates described herein are optimized for separation and/or detection of microbes and microbe-associated molecular pattern (MAMP) (including, e.g., but not limited to, a cell component of microbes, lipopolysaccharides (LPS), and/or endotoxin).

Provided are a natural graphite, a modified natural graphite material prepared therefrom, a preparation method, and applications. The natural graphite has the following characteristics: a particle size D50 smaller than 10 m, and D90/D10<2.5; a 002 interplanar spacing ranging from 0.336 to 0.360 nm, I.sub.002/I.sub.11035; a saturated tap density greater than or equal to 0.6 g/cc and smaller than 1.3 g/cc; and a specific surface area greater than or equal to 1.0 m.sup.2/g and smaller than 10.0 m.sup.2/g. The provided natural graphite has specific particle size, orientation, tap density and surface area and can serve as a raw material for preparing modified natural graphite material, and the prepared modified natural graphite material has high isotropy and thus has better rate performance and cycle performance.

Dynamic air classifier components are provided for finely grinding iron oxide minerals reduced through primary, secondary and tertiary crushing, along with static air classification components arranged in series for intermediate granulometric cuts and bag filters for retaining fine fraction. The system and process further comprise magnetic rolls, for magnetic separation, arranged in cascade at a variable leaning angle and formed by at least one of high or low magnetic intensity magnets.
