A DRIVE MODULE AND ITS USES, A FLOTATION PLANT AND A METHOD OF CHANGING OF THE DRIVE MODULE

A drive module which is a self-supporting structure being transferable and hoistable as an integral entity. The drive module includes a self-supporting framework having a shape of a rectangular parallelepiped. The self-supporting framework defines an inner space within the self-supporting framework. The drive module also includes at least two drive units. The drive units are supported to the self-supporting framework in the inner space of the self-supporting framework. The drive units are connectable to an external rotatable shaft for the rotation of the rotatable shaft located outside the drive module.

GAS FLOTATION TANK

A gas flotation tank is provided that includes a series of adjacent chambers which impart a rotational current therein. Each chamber is separated from a skim oil trough by a skimming weir. Each chamber comprises an alternating fluid communication device between adjacent chambers allowing fluid communication between adjacent chambers in the form of a communication port in the dividing wall between adjacent chambers and a chamber outlet in conjunction with a perforated plate and the outlet is positioned in fluid communication with the final chamber. An optional coalescing media may be positioned in or proximate the communication port to absorb or coalesce contaminants as they pass therethrough.

Multi-Stage Fluidized-Bed Flotation Separator

A system for concentrating particulate mixtures of hydrophobic and hydrophilic material in a fluid medium is presented. The system comprises a separation chamber comprising three or more processing compartments in series. Each processing compartment comprises a manifold for the introduction of teeter water that comprises a mixture of water and air bubbles, suspended solids that form a fluidized bed that is created by the upward movement of the teeter water through the suspended solids; and each processing compartment is independently operable. An overflow launder is located above the separation chamber and a dewatering compartment is located beneath the separation chamber.

Phase separation tank

A separation tank for separating a contaminant from a contaminated fluid. A series of juxtaposed interconnected chambers having a series of baffles therein provide a revolving flow of fluid in each chamber to maximize distance for which contaminants travel to separate from the fluid. The interconnected chambers may be juxtaposed in end-to-end relation or in side-by-each configuration.

The invention relates to a method and apparatus for minimizing froth drop back in a flotation cell undergoing froth flotation. The flotation cell has a slurry phase, a froth phase and a froth/slurry interface. Water is injected into the flotation cell at a position beneath the froth/slurry interface.

Froth flotation unit

A froth flotation unit for treating mineral ore particles suspended in slurry includes a tank, a gas supply for introducing flotation gas into the slurry to form froth, and a first froth collection launder including a first froth overflow lip facing towards the centre of the tank. The froth flotation unit has a pulp area of at least 15 m.sup.2 measured at a mixing area. The froth flotation unit further includes a second froth collection launder with a first froth overflow lip facing the perimeter of the flotation tank, and a froth blocker arranged between the first froth overflow lip and the second froth overflow lip. A froth flotation line, its use, and a froth flotation method are also disclosed.
