FLOCCULATION BASIN INCLUSION OR EXCLUSION TYPE WATER TREATMENT APPARATUS USING DISSOLVED AIR FLOTATION
Disclosed herein is a flocculation basin inclusion ion type water treatment apparatus using dissolved air floatation which includes: a flocculation basin which forms flocs by mixing a coagulant inserted into feed water and grows up the flocs; a contact zone to which fine bubbles are induced through a nozzle disposed at a lower part; and a separation zone which removes the flocs when the fine bubbles are attached to the flocs and the flocs float on the surface of water, the flocculation basin inclusion type water treatment apparatus including: a fine bubble forming part.
COMPACT FLOATATION UNIT
The present invention provides a method of purifying a contaminated liquid flow (A) comprising the steps of: introducing a first type of gas bubbles (8) in the contaminated liquid flow (A), the first type of gas bubbles obtained by at least partly saturating a liquid with a first gas (B), at a first pressure, followed by a lowering of the first pressure to a second pressure; introducing a second type of gas bubbles (9) to the contaminated liquid flow (A) downstream of the introduction of the first type of gas bubbles, the second type of gas bubbles formed by sparging, entrainment or attrition of a second gas (B); extracting a reject stream (C) comprising aggregates formed by the interaction of contaminants from the contaminated liquid flow (A) with both the first and the second type of gas bubbles; and obtaining a purified liquid flow (D) downstream of the introduction of the second type of gas bubbles; as well as a system and a vessel for use in such a method.
MEMBRANE SPARGERS FOR GRAVITY SEPARATORS AND FLOTATION MACHINES
A separator device (100) includes a separation chamber (107) defined at its lower end by a fluidization fluid panel (111). The separation chamber (107) receives incoming slurry (113) via a slurry inlet (102). The separator device may be characterized in that means (122) for supplying pre-sheared aerated fluidization fluid is provided above the fluidization fluid panel (111). The means (122) for supplying pre-sheared aerated fluidization fluid includes a novel sparger (119) comprising a flexible perforated membrane which is configured to supplementally shear the pre-sheared aerated fluidization fluid and uniformly distribute microbubbles (129) throughout the separation chamber (107).
SYSTEM FOR CLARIFYING PROCESS WATER IN OIL AND GAS OPERATIONS
A portable unit and associated processing are described for clarifying process water used in oil and gas operations such as fracking or drill-out operations. In the portable unit, dirty water (402) is introduced into a clarifier (400). The dirty water (402) is directed to a bottom of the clarifier (400) where dissolved air 408 from a dissolved air flotation pump (410) is injected into the water (402). The water (402) then passes across the inclined plates (412). Particles are separated from the water (402) via interaction with the plates (412) and directed to collectors (414), at the bottom of the clarifier (404), by gravitation. In addition, a floc, enhanced by the injection of the dissolved air (408), is skimmed from the water surface. The result of this process flow is clarified water (430) that can be returned to the frack and post-frack completion process.
Dissolved air flotation desludging in liquid treatment
A method and apparatus of minimizing the loss of liquid in a dissolved air flotation desludging process, is disclosed. The method and apparatus creates an ambient airflow over the top of the dissolved air flotation tank directed towards a weir at one end of the dissolved air flotation tank whereby sludge floating on top of the liquid is accelerated over the weir at a higher rate than the liquid, thereby conserving the amount of liquid lost over the weir.
WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
A system for treating a wastewater stream produces an effluent having an acceptable level of turbidity. A PID controller is operatively coupled to at least one turbidity meter for monitoring turbidity of the effluent stream. A plurality of chemical treatment additive pumps are provided for adding a plurality of treatment chemicals to the wastewater stream in real time under supervision of the controller, and responsive to monitored turbidity.
