At least two drum bearings are used for mounting the drum in a housing and at least one screw bearing is used for mounting the screw in the drum. The drum and the screw mounting are designed in the region of the conical portion or the dry zone in such a way that solid matter is transported with the aid of the screw up to a solid-discharge drum cover, which forms the termination of the conical portion in the axial direction of the drum, in order to leave the drum through multiple openings in the solid-discharge drum cover.
