CENTRIFUGE CONTAINER ADAPTER AND RELATED ARTICLES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS

The present disclosure generally provides centrifuge container adapters configured to be used in a centrifuge, e.g., a bench-top centrifuge, and centrifuge systems and methods incorporating the centrifuge container adapters. The centrifuge container adapter may receive a centrifuge container, comprising a sample, the sample, in turn, comprising a fluid. During a centrifuging operation, according to some embodiments, the centrifuge container adapter and centrifuge container may be placed in a rotor cavity in the centrifuge. As a rotor of the centrifuge spins, the fluid may exit the sample within the centrifuge container and be collected in a void space of the centrifuge container adapter. In some embodiments, measurements of the fluid in the centrifuge container adapter may be used to determine characteristics or properties of the sample.

Diatomaceous energy storage devices

A printed energy storage device includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator between the first and the second electrode. At least one of the first electrode, the second electrode, and the separator includes frustules, for example of diatoms. The frustules may have a uniform or substantially uniform property or attribute such as shape, dimension, and/or porosity. A property or attribute of the frustules can also be modified by applying or forming a surface modifying structure and/or material to a surface of the frustules. A membrane for an energy storage device includes frustules. An ink for a printed film includes frustules.

Centrifuge Tube Comprising a Floating Buoy, and Methods for Using the Same

Multi-component separation devices configured to separate components of a liquid sample by centrifugation are provided. Aspects of the separation devices include a container having a distal end and a proximal end and a buoy configured to be displaced along a longitudinal axis within the container where the buoy includes one or more sealed chambers. Also provided are methods of using the subject devices to separate components of a multi-component liquid sample such as whole blood, bone marrow aspirate or stromal vascular fraction as well as systems suitable for practicing the subject methods.

A centrifuge insert is provided which is not only suited for one type of sample container or sample carrier but for at least two geometrically different elements from the group consisting of sample container and sample carrier. This achieves that the same centrifuge insert can be used for different sample containers or sample carriers. This provides space savings, in particular in the lab. Furthermore acquisition cost is reduced, and handling is accelerated by reducing manual complexity which increases lab through put.
