Centrifugal separator having a forcing device to create a radial leak flow
A centrifugal separator includes a frame and a rotating part including a spindle and a centrifuge rotor enclosing a separation space. An inlet channel provides fluid communication into the separation space and includes a rotary channel part, a frame channel part, and a first seal at the interface between the rotary and frame channel parts. An outlet channel provides fluid communication out from the separation space and includes a rotary channel part, a frame channel part, and a second seal at the interface between the rotary and frame channel parts. The inlet and outlet channels are arranged concentrically with each other. A forcing device is provided to generate a leak flow through one of the first and second seals in a first direction from the outlet channel to the inlet channel and to counteract leakage in the opposite direction.

COOLING OR HEATING OF BEARINGS IN A CENTRIFUGAL SEPARATOR
A centrifugal separator includes a frame and a drive member configured to rotate a rotating part in relation to the frame around an axis of rotation. The rotating part includes a centrifuge rotor enclosing a separation space. The centrifuge rotor is adjoined to a hollow spindle supported by the frame by at least one bearing device. The interior of the hollow spindle is in thermal contact with the at least one bearing device and further includes a thermal transfer medium inlet for supplying a thermal transfer medium to said interior and a thermal transfer medium outlet for withdrawing the thermal transfer medium from the interior; and directing mechanism for directing thermal transfer medium from the thermal transfer medium inlet to the thermal transfer medium outlet in a first direction along the length of the spindle and in a second direction along the length of the spindle. The second direction is opposite the first direction. The first or second direction is along the inner wall of the interior of the spindle, the inner wall being arranged to rotate during operation of the centrifugal separator.
DRIVE ARRANGEMENT
A drive arrangement for a rotational body device comprising a shaft which is held rotatably with respect to a rotational axis, a first bearing module and a second bearing module, each with at least one elastic support element for supporting the shaft, an electric motor, an electrically actuable stabilisation device, and a housing. At least the first bearing module provides a mass body which is held in a non-rotatable fashion with respect to rotational axis by means of the at least one elastic support element. The shaft is supported in a rotatable fashion on the mass body by a bearing of the first bearing module.

Separator for separating a flowable suspension into two flowable phases of different density
A separator includes a housing that is stationary during operation and designed as a tank having at least two openings. A drum located inside the housing can be rotated about an axis of rotation, the drum having an axis of rotation and at least one opening. A gap is formed at least in sections or continuously between the drum and the housing. The separator also includes a support and drive device having at least two support and/or drive units, which keep the drum suspended inside the housing, supported, and/or set in rotation. One of the support and/or drive units is a first magnetic bearing that at least axially supports the drum and to keep it suspended. At least one other of the support and/or drive units is axially supports the drum.

Magnetically suspended and rotated separator
A separator includes a housing that is stationary during operation and is a tank having at least two openings. A drum is located inside the housing, has a vertical axis of rotation, and a number of openings to the housing corresponding to the openings of the housing. A single multi-part support and drive device with at least one control device and a motor including of a stator, a stator magnet assembly, and a rotor with a rotor magnet assembly, which keep the drum suspended inside the housing, radially and axially supported, and set in rotation. The stator magnet assembly is located outside the housing and the rotor magnet assembly is located inside the housing on the drum so that an air gap is formed between the housing and the drum while the drum is rotating during operation. The axial support and centering of the drum is implemented by controlling the axial position of the rotor magnet assembly using the control device by actuating the motor.
