A hydraulic spray nozzle, a hydroseeding system and a method of dispersing bulk material with a hydraulic spray nozzle. The hydraulic spray nozzle may further include one or more of an inlet, a diffuser cone, an expansion chamber, one or more interior surface vanes, a converging nozzle and an outlet that fluidly cooperate with one another in order to increase the dispersal distance of the bulk material as it exits the hydraulic spray nozzle. In one form, the hydraulic spray nozzle is incorporated into a hydroseeding system or other bulk material dispersing system in order to apply seeds, mulch, fertilizer or related bulk materials over large swaths of land.

Stream straightener

A nozzle assembly includes a nozzle body and a flow straightener. The nozzle body defines an inlet configured to be fluidly coupled to fluid source, an outlet, and a nozzle body passage extending between the inlet and the outlet. The flow straightener is coupled to the nozzle body and extends at least partially across the nozzle body passage. The flow straightener defines a primary passage and a secondary passage extending through the flow straightener to fluidly couple the inlet and the outlet of the nozzle body. The primary passage defines a primary passage outlet having a cross-sectional area, and the secondary passage defines a secondary passage outlet having a cross-sectional area that is less than the cross-sectional area of the at least one primary passage. At least one of the primary passage outlet and the secondary passage outlet has a circular cross-section.

An air-cap nozzle 103b for discharging an atomising air jet 101b for atomising paint from a spray gun, the air cap nozzle comprising a tip surface having an atomizing air outlet 100b and a rim region 102b surrounding the outlet. The rim region 102b comprises a continuous serrated portion formed by a plurality of protrusions 104 that protrude axially outward from the rim region 100b of the tip surface. The protrusions 104 are separated by valleys 105 configured to permit entrainment of ambient air by the atomising air jet 101b, the entrained ambient air being drawn through the valleys. The permitted entrainment provides mixing between the entrained ambient air and the atomising air jet 101b.
