According to one embodiment, a cleaning device cleans a nozzle provided on a nozzle head of an electrospinning apparatus. The device includes a storage part and a cleaning part. The storage part is box-shaped, and one surface of the storage part is open. The cleaning part is provided inside the storage part, is flexible, and is capable of holding a solution.

An apparatus for accumulating cross-aligned fiber in an electrospinning device, comprising a multiple segment collector including at least a first segment, a second segment, and an intermediate segment, the intermediate segment positioned between the first and second segment to collectively present an elongated cylindrical structure; at least one electrically chargeable edge conductor circumferentially resident on the first segment and circumferentially resident on the second segment; a connection point on the first segment and on the second segment, the connection points usable for mounting the elongated cylindrical structure on a drive unit to rotate around a longitudinal axis; the elongated cylindrical structure holding electrospun fiber substantially aligned with the longitudinal axis when the edge conductors are excited with a charge of opposite polarity relative to charged fiber, and attracting electrospun fiber on to its surface around the longitudinal axis at least when the edge conductors are absent a charge or grounded.

An electrostatic painting device capable of reducing any AC or electromagnetic emissions when the device is powered on is provided. The emissions affect electronic components present during painting of various objects or even when the device is powered on. The electromagnetic induction into the conductive circuit elements in turn induces voltages and currents, which potentially harm the micro-electronic circuits. One such device includes a choke between a fluid tip and a high voltage source of the device to reduce these emissions. The voltage source may include at least one capacitor which supplies the AC emissions representing electromagnetic emissions risk during the discharge of paint from the device. The choke connected to the voltage source substantially reduces the emissions involved during the paint discharge, while allowing the discharge of electrons, thereby imparting negative DC charge to the paint and the workpiece, and preventing damage to electronic circuits during the process.

A portable, hand-held electrospinning or electrospraying apparatus and system, method, and portions thereof, comprised of a durable portion of the hand-held apparatus and a consumable portion of the hand-held apparatus. The consumable portion of the hand-held apparatus, which may contain the solution to be output in electrospin or electrospray fashion, may be replaced in whole or in part to provide additional or alternative solution. A base station may be provided, and can output high voltage and communication signals to the hand-held apparatus to enable the electrospin or electrospray operation by the hand-held apparatus.

The invention relates to a control circuit for protecting an electrostatic spray-coating apparatus, which has a high-voltage supply, against spark discharge. The control circuit has a disconnection device for automatically disconnecting the high-voltage supply, and has a device for detecting abnormal operation of the high-voltage supply. The device for detecting abnormal operation of the high-voltage supply is designed to monitor at least one parameter which is characteristic of the operation of the high-voltage supply, and to output a corresponding disconnection signal to the disconnection device when the at least one parameter which is characteristic of the operation of the high-voltage supply exceeds or falls below a predefined or predefinable limit value.

A powder spraying head for spraying a powder on a can body to be coated comprises a work chamber inside the powder spraying head, a powder tube for providing the powder, a charging electrode for charging the powder with an electrostatic charge and a guiding electrode for deflecting the powder present inside the work chamber substantially in the direction of the work opening. The charging electrode is arranged in the area of the powder outlet and is formed with a tip in the direction of the powder streaming into the work chamber. Additionally or alternatively, the guiding electrode is plate-shaped and a flat side of the guiding electrode is oriented towards the work chamber.
