Wash Basin Being Transformable to be Particularly Adapted for Wound Irrigation
A hospital-grade basin holds water for washing patients, and converts easily/quickly for the patient's limb to rest across a portion of the basin. Hall-moon shaped openings on opposite sides of the basin wall(s) support the limb at a reduced height with respect to adjacent side wall portions, which serve as a partial shield during wound irrigation. The shaped openings are sealed with hinged doors in a closed position, using a friction fit and/or elastomeric leaf-spring members. In another embodiment, opposing portions of the side wall may instead be formed of an over-molded elastomeric material that conforms to the patient's limb, or may have walls formed like a bellows. A one-time transformable basin has a wall with first and second notches to form first and second tear-away panels, which leave residual areas shaped and positioned on the wall according to first and second portions of a patient's limb.
MODIFYING HUMIDITY TO GLABROUS TISSUE FOR THE TREATMENT OF MIGRAINE AND OTHER CONDITIONS
Systems and methods for improving or preventing a condition, such as the treatment of pain syndromes and migraine headaches are disclosed. A method for treating pain can include one or more of the steps including identifying a region of the patient comprising glabrous tissue; positioning the region of the patient comprising glabrous tissue into an enclosed chamber; adjusting the relative humidity of the enclosed chamber sufficient to create a physiologic effect. The method need not involve altering the temperature within the enclosed chamber.
Mobile apparatus for the dispersion and transdermal delivery of pharmaceutical, medical or purified carbon dioxide gas
A mobile treatment apparatus for use in treating a user of the apparatus with medical or therapeutic gases, comprising a mixing unit for containing water and having a motionless mixing means; a gas cartridge unit removably mounted to the mixing unit via a cartridge piercing module, wherein a pressure-regulating valve regulates a flow rate of a gas from the cartridge through the mixing means, to achieve a specified gas-water mixture that is effective for transdermal delivery of the gas to the user; and a wearable receiver suit for forming a space around at least an area of the user's body to be treated, wherein the suit is connected to the mixing unit, for delivery of the gas to treat the area via the transdermal delivery.
FOOTBATH APPARATUS
A footbath has a base member defining a platform. A flexible continuous side wall extends from a proximal end region connected about a periphery of the base member to a distal end region. The side wall has a collapsed position and an extended position. The platform of the base member and the side wall cooperate to define a bath chamber for retaining water with the bath chamber sized to receive a body part. A retention member is supported by the base member to extend from the base member to the distal end region of the side wall to retain the side wall in the extended position.
Compositions and methods for treating an infection
The present application relates to compounded compositions, methods of making compounded compositions, kits comprising compounded compositions, containers comprising compounded compositions, and methods of using compounded compositions. The present application also relates to anti-infective agents and methods of using anti-infective agents. For example, disclosed herein are compounded compositions comprising an anti-bacterial agent, an anti-fungal agent, and an excipient base and methods of using a compounded composition to treat or prevent a bacterial infection, a fungal infection, or both, or a suspected bacterial infection, a suspected fungal infection, or both. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present invention.
Soaking basin having magnetic jet
A soaking basin is provided having a magnetic jet assembly positioned to provide a therapeutic liquid circulation within the basin. The magnetic jet includes an impeller assembly and a drive assembly. The impeller assembly operatively coupled to the magnetic drive assembly only via magnetic attraction, such that a basin wall and a disposable liner are disposed between the impeller assembly and the magnetic drive assembly.
Apparatus and method for treatment of foot and nail diseases
A method and apparatus for treatment of fungal infections and/or other foot skin disorders, comprises a shoe-type housing having a substantially hollow interior forming a treatment chamber, a supporting platform disposed within the hollow chamber; so that a foot of a patient positioned within the treatment chamber is supported by the platform, so that nails are disposed at the lower level of the front part of the chamber, whereas the heel of the foot is being elevated a rear part thereof. A delivery and control assembly for the aqueous solution is provided. At least one light delivery arrangement is disposed within or in the vicinity of the treatment chamber.
Wash basin being transformable to be particularly adapted for wound irrigation
A hospital-grade basin holds water for washing patients, or alternatively converts easily/quickly for a patient's limb to rest comfortably within and across a portion of the basin. In a first embodiment, half-moon shaped openings on opposite sides of the basin side wall(s) comfortably support the limb at a reduced height with respect to adjacent side wall portions, which serve as a partial shield during wound irrigation, and aid fluid collection. The shaped openings may each be sealed with a hinged door in a closed position, using a friction fit, to form the traditional, watertight basin. In an alternate embodiment, the doors may be secured in the closed position using an elastomeric leaf-spring-shaped member. In other embodiments, rather than cutouts and doors, opposing portions of the side wall may instead be formed of an over-molded elastomeric material that conforms to the patient's limb, or may instead be formed like a bellows.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DEPLOYING A SURGICAL PREPARATION
A device used for applying an antiseptic preparation to a surgical site of a patient prior to surgery outside of an operating theater. A loose-fitting bag is provided which encloses the surgical site by securing the open end(s) to the patient by closing means. A high friction scrub surface is provided in the bag. A method and apparatus are also provided for releasing antiseptic into the interior of the bag. The method provides that the surgical site can be scrubbed within the bag so as to properly prepare the skin for surgery. A temperature indicator for the antiseptic preparation is also provided.
