Modifying humidity and convection to glabrous tissue to control metabolism
Systems and methods for affecting metabolism, such as the treatment of metabolic syndrome are disclosed. A method for treating metabolic syndrome can include one or more of the steps including identifying a region of the patient comprising glabrous tissue; positioning the region of the patient comprising glabrous tissue into an enclosed chamber; adjusting the relative humidity of the enclosed chamber sufficient to create a physiologic metabolic effect; and activating a convection fan within the chamber to promote heat transfer from the glabrous tissue. The method need not involve altering the temperature within the enclosed chamber.
Water therapy system and device
A water therapy system, including a therapy chair with a tiltable backrest portion, and a foot tub, including a water bucket and an inclined ramp, such that a patient can be lying in the therapy chair with lower legs and feet extended into the water bucket, such that an inclination angle of the inclined ramp ensures a comfortable seating position. Also disclosed is an inclined ramp for holding a water bucket for use in reflexology therapy, including an inclined surface and a base, such that the inclined surface is configured to hold a water bucket.
METHOD OF ADMINISTERING NANOPARTICLES THROUGH FEET
A therapeutic nanoparticle diffusion system includes at least one rubber bootie; a foot bath; and a nanoparticle composition. The rubber bootie is adapted to accommodate a user's foot and the nanoparticle composition. The foot bath has a predetermined height, a vibrational base, and a heating element attached. A therapeutic method of administering nanoparticles includes providing the bootie and the foot bath; adding water to the foot bath; donning the bootie; resting the foot and the bootie in the foot bath; adding a nanoparticle composition to the bootie; activating the heating element and the vibration element; resting the subject's foot in the nanoparticle composition; doffing and emptying the bootie into the foot bath; and soaking the subject's foot in the foot bath. The temperatures and times are predetermined.
PEDICURE SPA
A pedicure spa may include a basin and a lift mechanism that vertically moves the basin between a raised position in a lowered position while maintaining the basin in a single orientation. The pedicure spa may additionally include a chair, wherein the lift mechanism vertically moves the basin and the chair while maintaining the basin and the chair in a single orientation. The pedicure spa may linearly translate the chair relative to the basin while the basin and the chair are in a raised position. The pedicure spa may sense an obstruction below the basin and automatically interrupt lowering of the basin.
Fluid pump assembly
A fluid pump assembly is provided. The pump has a pair of units magnetically coupled to each other. The first unit contains a drive motor and a magnetic assembly. The second unit contains a magnetic assembly and a blade of a propeller/impeller for imparting movement to a fluid. As the first unit is activated by the drive motor, a magnetic flux is created which in turn rotates the magnetic assembly in the second unit, driving the blade.
SEALING DEVICE FOR FOOT THERAPEUTIC APPARATUS AND FOOT THERAPEUTIC APPARATUS WITH SEALING DEVICE
A sealing device for a foot therapeutic apparatus includes an airtight sleeve and a sealing member. The airtight sleeve includes a treatment box connecting end and a limb inlet end. The sealing member is fixedly mounted at the limb inlet end. The sealing member includes a tightening band and an annular gas bag located on the outer periphery of the tightening band. The annular gas bag is connected to a gas source. A foot therapeutic apparatus with the sealing device includes a treatment chamber and an electrical chamber. The treatment chamber comprises a treatment box, and the sealing device is arranged on the treatment box. A box opening is arranged at a top of the treatment box, and the treatment box connecting end of the airtight sleeve of the sealing device is hermetically connected to the box opening.
FOOT SPA TUB PUMP AND METHOD
A foot spa tub includes a tub basin, a first magnetic drive member rotatably coupled to a drive motor, and a first casing supporting the magnetic drive member. The first casing is disposed against an exterior surface of a sidewall of the basin. A second magnetic drive member is rotatably coupled to a blade. The first and second magnetic drive members are magnetically coupled to each other so that the blade is drivingly coupled to the drive motor. A nozzle houses the second magnetic drive member and the blade. The nozzle is detachably securable to an interior surface of the sidewall by a magnetic attraction force between the first and second magnetic drive members. A method of circulating liquid in a foot tub spa is also provided.
Flexible liner with inner and outer layers for use with a liquid-receiving basin
A liner for use with a basin to contain a liquid features a plurality of bodies of flexible plastic. Portions of an inner face of a first body of flexible plastic are joined to corresponding portions of an inner face of a second body of flexible plastic, through which a plurality of openings are formed, to provide a multi-layer body of flexible plastic. Other portions of the inner face of the first body of flexible plastic are not joined to corresponding other portions of the inner face of the second body of flexible plastic, defining an air conduit between the first body of flexible plastic and the second body of flexible plastic for guiding pressurized air substantially from an air discharge apparatus.

MULTI-MODE MICROCURRENT STIMULUS SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
Methods of applying microcurrent stimulation to a subject may include providing a mask supplying at a minimum moisture to a region to be treated, applying a first electrode connected to a first polarity of microcurrent stimulation circuitry to the mask, applying a second electrode connected to a second polarity of the microcurrent stimulation circuitry to the subject outside of the mask, and providing microcurrent to the first electrode and the second electrode from the microcurrent stimulation circuitry. The method may further include inserting feet of the subject into a liquid having a minimum conductivity of 5 mS/m and vibrating the liquid.
