Portable cavitation peening method and apparatus

A method of cavitation peening may include coupling a moveable water source to a portable nozzle, through a flexible conduit. The method may include positioning the nozzle adjacent a treatment surface and discharging a first and second stream of fluid through a first and second channel of the nozzle, with the second channel concentrically positioned around the first channel. The first stream may have a first pressure, and the second stream may have a second pressure, the first pressure being greater than the second pressure and the two streams combining to generate a cloud of cavitation bubbles.

A SPRAY NOZZLE

The invention relates to a spray nozzle comprising an elastomeric tube (1) comprising a proximal end (7) through which a fluid is intended to enter said tube (1), and a distal end (8). The spray nozzle also comprises a slit (9) formed in the elastomeric tube (1) between the proximal end (7) and the distal end (8), for spraying the fluid out from the elastomeric tube (1). The elastomeric tube (1) includes a reinforcing element (10, 11) for limiting deformation of the elastomeric tube (1). By providing a slit in a tube between the proximal and distal ends of the tube, the slit can be sized to provide a broad spread pattern to the spray. The reinforcing element prevents over-expansion or deformation of the elastomeric tube.

Apparatus and method for selectively applying powder coatings onto internally threaded fasteners
09829031 · 2017-11-28 · ·

An apparatus for applying a thermoplastic powder to internal threads of a fastener includes a vacuum nozzle having an end adapted to engage a first surface of the fastener. A spray tube is sized to be inserted within the bore of the fastener and communicates with a source or sources of thermoplastic powder and pressurized air. A bushing is mounted on the spray tube so that the spray tube is able to slide with respect to the bushing. The bushing is adapted to engage a second surface of the fastener. The spray tube and bushing are movable between clamping positions, where the vacuum nozzle and the bushing engage the first and second surfaces of the fastener, and release positions where the vacuum nozzle and the bushing do not engage the first and second surfaces of the fastener. A fastener holder holds the fastener between the vacuum nozzle and the bushing so that when the vacuum nozzle and the bushing are in the clamping positions, the spray tube enters the bore of the fastener and sprays thermoplastic powder on the internal threads of the fastener with excess thermoplastic powder collected by the vacuum nozzle. The vacuum nozzle and bushing may be machined and to permit either, both or neither of first and second chamfers of the fasteners to also be coated.

COOLING MEDIUM SPRAY DEVICE
20230173631 · 2023-06-08 ·

A body member (110) of a coolant medium spray device (100) is attachable to a main shaft (10) of a machine tool. A rotating part of a pump (300) is connected to the body member. The body member and the rotating part are rotatably supported within an interior space of a support part, which may be constituted by a cover (210), a case (220) and a ring member (225). When the body member is attached to the main shaft, the support part is also fixed to the machine tool so that the support part is non-rotatable relative to the machine tool. In this state, cooling medium that is being supplied via the main shaft is pressurized by the pump and then sprayed out of a spray port (242) of a nozzle (240) that is mounted in a nozzle mounting hole (231) of a cap (230) affixed to the support part.

PLURAL COMPONENT DISPENSING SYSTEM

First and second fluid components are individually pumped to a device from first and second pumps. A first volumetric flow rate of the first fluid component discharged from the first fluid component is measured. A second volumetric flow rate of the second fluid component discharged from the second pump is measured. Operation of at least one of the first and second pumps is controlled based on the measured first volumetric flow rate and the measured second volumetric flow rate to produce a target ratio of the first fluid component and the second fluid component at the device.

A portable, self-contained, hand-held, spray gun system having spray gun with a handle, barrel, trigger, and an interchangeable cartridge containing a sprayable substance which may flow from the cartridge under pressure through a portion of the barrel past a selectively positionable needle valve and out an exit orifice of a nozzle when the trigger is squeezed allowing a user to spray the pressurized contents of the vessel over a selected surface and stop such spraying activity by releasing the trigger all without the need for a separate power source or motorized compressor.

CART SPRAYER
20170312777 · 2017-11-02 ·

A walk from behind, also called a push or cart sprayer having an assembly of wheeled frame and a tank. The frame has a rearward extending handle which enables the assembly to be pushed along a path. The tank has a connected boom assembly including a pivotal boom arm along the front of the tank with a distal spray nozzle, and a mechanism enabling the boom arm to be pivoted to the sides of the tank where the nozzle sprays away from the path, to the side of the path, so that possible toxic or corrosive spraying liquid cannot be stepped upon by the operator pushing the sprayer, thereby enhancing safety of operation. The boom arm is also pivotal to the front of the tank, such as useful when the cart sprayer is towed.
