A spray pattern monitoring system includes a spray sensor disposed proximate an outlet of a spray nozzle. The spray sensor has one or more optical sensors configured to emit directional light, such as laser pulses, towards the expected position of a liquid spray emitted from the nozzle. The spray sensor can detect the absence or presence of the liquid spray based on returns of the directional light to the optical sensor.

In addition, the method includes receiving a first duty cycle from a computing system. The method further includes determining a detected application condition based on the agricultural product flow condition, the data related to boom movement, and the first duty cycle with the computing system. Lastly, the method includes generating a duty cycle command based on a comparison of the target application condition to the detected application condition with the computing system.

An airflow detection system can be configured to capture data indicative of one or more airflow sources. A computing system can be communicatively coupled to the first nozzle assembly and the airflow detection system. The computing system can be configured to receive, from the airflow detection system, the data associated with the one or more airflow sources and generate a first nozzle vector for the first nozzle assembly based at least in part on the data from the airflow detection system.

A coating method for coating components, e.g. motor vehicle bodywork components in a painting installation, is provided. The coating method includes moving an application device over a component surface to be coated along a pre-determined coating path , and applying a coating medium stream onto the component surface by means of an application device. The coating medium stream is not rotationally symmetrical relative to its stream axis and therefore generates on the component surface an elongate spray pattern with a particular longitudinal direction. The method further includes rotation of the application device about the stream axis relative to the coating path during the movement of the application device so that the angular position of the longitudinal direction of the spray pattern relative to the path transverse direction changes along the coating path.

System and method for monitoring and suppressing fire

A fire detection and suppression system includes a system controller for determining an initial location of the fire based on fire location information from fire detectors, and then the system controller determines a final location of the fire based on fire location information taking into account spatial and/or angular relationships between the fire detectors and the initial location. The system controller determines a location of the fire and activates monitors to deploy suppressant based on a distance between each of the monitors and the location of the fire. The system controller controls the monitors based on how the suppressant is deployed onto the fire.

A quantitative essential oil dripping device which includes: N sealed essential oil containers for containing essential oil, wherein N is a positive integer greater than or equal to 1; N gas inlet tubes and N oil outlet tubes, which are all inserted into the N essential oil containers respectively, wherein in each of the essential oil containers, a gas outlet of the gas inlet tube is located above an inlet of the oil outlet tube; a gas pump arranged at gas inlets of the N gas inlet tubes; a throttle valve communicating the gas pump with the essential oil container; and a drip number detection module configured to detect the drip number of the essential oil dripped from an oil outlet of the oil outlet tube. During use, the gas pump is started, pressure is applied to the essential oil container through the gas pump, and the essential oil is driven to be dripped from the oil outlet tube under the combined action of the gas pump and the throttle valve, thereby achieving the dripping of the essential oil. The drip number of the essential oil dripped from the oil outlet of the oil outlet tube is detected through the drip number detection module, and the amount of the dripped essential oil is measured by recording the drip number, thereby accurately controlling the dripping of the essential oil. After the dripping of the essential oil is completed, the gas pump is stopped.

Also described herein are a method of using the device for performing and optical monitoring the rotational atomization of the coating material composition and a method for determining the mean length of filaments formed on the edge of the bell cup of an rotational atomizer during the rotational atomization of the coating material composition and/or for determining at least one characteristic variable of the drop size distribution within a spray and/or the homogeneity of the spray.
