The invention relates to a coating device (1) comprising a coating chamber (17), in which at least one coating agent (2) is provided, which applies a coating to the coating surface (15) of a workpiece, which moves through the coating chamber in a transport direction (x), wherein in the coating chamber (17) a negative pressure is applied and the coating surface is delimited by at least one tool (6, 7) comprising a tear-off edge and the coating chamber (17) is delimited by an inlet die and and outlet die (11). The present invention further relates to a method for coating the coating surface (15) of a workpiece with a coating agent (2), wherein the coating surface is delimited by at least one tool (6, 7) with a tear-off edge (18).
COATING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF COATING JOINT
A coating apparatus for coating a perimeter surface of a pipeline. A frame selectively mounts a sprayer on the pipeline. The sprayer can spray fluid along a flow path in a spraying mode and preparation mode. In the preparation mode, a fluid diverter moves into the flow path to divert the fluid delivered from the sprayer away from the pipeline. In the spraying mode, the fluid diverter moves out of the flow path to permit the sprayer to coat the perimeter surface of the pipeline with a curable liquid. A vacuum system can draw a vacuum through the diverter to remove the fluid the sprayer sprays in the preparation mode. The flow path can be located in a spray shroud. The diverter can fluidly couple the vacuum system to the shroud interior in the spraying mode to remove overspray.

An apparatus and associated methods for an automated pipe doping apparatus. The apparatus may include a pump fluidly coupled to a reservoir and a dope manifold, the pump positioned to pump pipe dope from the reservoir to the dope manifold; an ejector coupled to the dope manifold, the ejector positioned to supply a fixed volume of pipe dope from the dope manifold to a dope distribution line; and a pipe dope applicator, the pipe dope applicator fluidly coupled to the dope distribution line positioned to deposit pipe dope on a threaded connection. In some embodiments, the pipe dope applicator may be a fan-pattern nozzle. In other embodiments, the pipe dope applicator may be a mold-type applicator. In other embodiments, the pipe dope applicator may be a brush-type applicator.

A method of coating an exterior surface of the elongate object with the coating material includes holding the elongate object lengthwise in the elongate chamber, mixing the pressurized air and the coating material to form a mist, and coating the exterior surface while directing the mist around the exterior surface and toward the outlet of the elongate chamber.

Method for applying varying amounts or types of adhesive on an elastic strand
A method and devices for dispensing adhesive onto an elastic strand are configured to apply first, second, and third volumes of adhesive onto first, second, and third portions of the elastic strand, respectively. When the elastic strand is adhesively secured to a substrate to form a personal disposable hygiene product, the first and third portions of the elastic strand define opposing ends of the elastic strand, which are adhered with a larger amount of adhesive or a stronger adhesive material capable of limiting movement of the strand at the opposing ends. The method and devices advantageously use a module and nozzle which maintain separation between first and second adhesive streams received from different adhesive supplies at least until flow within the nozzle. This arrangement enables use of different adhesives to form the first, second, and third volumes, as well as wet-on-wet contact dispensing using multiple nozzle outlets.
Shear Stable Lamination Adhesive with Spray Applied Activator
An adhesive application apparatus is provided. The apparatus uses a rolled on adhesive applied to a substrate. After roll application, an adhesive activator is sprayed onto the substrate. By spraying an activator onto the substrate after the adhesive is applied, the adhesive may be made tacky for adhesion, but the adhesive used for rolling may be highly stable and slow to dry/cure without said activator, which enhances rolled application effectiveness.
