The cleaning nozzle includes a first plug movably arranged in the axial direction within the bore of the nozzle housing between a retracted position and a protruding position, wherein the first plug has a sleeve-shaped body with a front wall closing a front portion of the sleeve-shaped body, wherein the front wall of the sleeve-shaped body includes a first set of spray holes configured to eject cleaning fluid substantially in the axial direction, wherein the sleeve-shaped body of the first plug includes a second set of spray holes configured to eject cleaning fluid substantially in a radial direction perpendicular to the axial direction, wherein a front surface of the first plug is substantially flush with a front surface of the nozzle housing in the retracted position of the first plug, and wherein a front portion of the first plug, including the first and second set of spay holes, protrudes beyond the front surface of the nozzle housing in the protruding position of the first plug for enabling spray cleaning of the interior surface of the pipe or tank. The cleaning nozzle includes a second plug arranged within a space defined by the sleeve-shaped body of the first plug and configured for closing a flow path from the inlet port to the first set of holes of the first plug when the first plug is located in the retracted position.

Apparatus and method for sanitizing
09833803 · 2017-12-05 ·

An apparatus and system that efficiently and effectively delivers a sanitizing fluid to ducts in the form of a fog or mist is described. A canister that contains a liquid sanitizing solution is attached to a compressor and includes a straw that has an internal passageway that extends into the liquid and a venturi tube above the level of the liquid that connects with the internal passageway in the straw. The headspace above the liquid in the canister is pressurized, causing fluid to flow upwardly in the straw when a trigger is depressed, drawing fluid upwardly in part by the venturi. As the liquid passes the venturi the pressurized air that is flowing into the venturi causes the fluid to form a fine mist. The mist, under pressure from the compressor, is routed into a flexible delivery tube that has been previously positioned in a duct system. The terminal end of the tube has an atomizing ball attached thereto and the atomizing ball has a series of orifices through which the misted, atomized fluid is delivered. As fogged sanitizing solution flows through the orifices it is deposited on the interior surfaces of the duct. The delivery tube and the attached atomizing ball are withdrawn from the duct as the sanitizing fog is emitted from the ball. The fan in the HVAC system is not activated so there is no deliver of the sanitizer through registers and into the living space. The apparatus and method may be used to apply other fluids to other surfaces.

Apparatus and method for selectively applying powder coatings onto internally threaded fasteners
09829031 · 2017-11-28 · ·

An apparatus for applying a thermoplastic powder to internal threads of a fastener includes a vacuum nozzle having an end adapted to engage a first surface of the fastener. A spray tube is sized to be inserted within the bore of the fastener and communicates with a source or sources of thermoplastic powder and pressurized air. A bushing is mounted on the spray tube so that the spray tube is able to slide with respect to the bushing. The bushing is adapted to engage a second surface of the fastener. The spray tube and bushing are movable between clamping positions, where the vacuum nozzle and the bushing engage the first and second surfaces of the fastener, and release positions where the vacuum nozzle and the bushing do not engage the first and second surfaces of the fastener. A fastener holder holds the fastener between the vacuum nozzle and the bushing so that when the vacuum nozzle and the bushing are in the clamping positions, the spray tube enters the bore of the fastener and sprays thermoplastic powder on the internal threads of the fastener with excess thermoplastic powder collected by the vacuum nozzle. The vacuum nozzle and bushing may be machined and to permit either, both or neither of first and second chamfers of the fasteners to also be coated.
