A plant cover apparatus includes a bag having an interior encompassed by a wall that extends from a top end of the bag and tapers inwardly to a bottom end of the bag. The bottom end includes a rim that laterally circumscribes a plant-receiving opening formed through the bag. The bag has a slot that extends vertically from the opening through the wall. The slot includes opposed margins having cooperatively interlocking parts that can temporarily be joined and separated to increase the size of the opening. The bag may be vertically suspended from a support member positioned next to the plant. An exterior perimeter of the bag may be rigid enough to help the bag maintain its shape when suspended.

The present invention also provides an agricultural or horticultural implement 10, 30 for performing an agricultural or horticultural process, the implement 10, 30 including whipper arrangement 50 at a location forward of where the process will be performed.

The agricultural or horticultural implement 10, 30 can be such that to the rear of where the process is performed there can located film deployment system 30 as described above.

A natural fiber felt is provided, which is a film formed by processes of binding a natural fiber net with a binder, extruding, drying and shaping the natural fiber net. A surface of the film is coated with a waterproof layer. The foam binder is formed by combining modified starch serving as a binder and urea serving as a foaming agent with water. A water-repellent agent fruit wax emulsion is employed to form the waterproof layer. The natural fiber net is carded by a carding machine at one time, and the foam binder is sprayed onto the natural fiber net to bind the natural fiber net so as to form the film. The product has characteristics of ultra-thinness and high strength with good performances on heat preservation, moisturizing ability, waterproof and air permeability.

A plant cover transformable between collapsed and expanded states and including: a frame including a plurality of rods; a foldable canopy secured to the rods; and a pivoting support assembly operatively coupled to the frame. The pivoting support assembly includes: a brace having a central base and a plurality of projections extending radially outwardly from the central base and defining a longitudinally extending socket, a pivot support defining a pivot axis, and a latch receiver; and a plurality of rod supports pivotally coupled to a respective projection of the plurality of projections of the brace.
