System and Process For Applying An Adhesive To A Moving Web

A system and process are disclosed for applying an adhesive composition to a moving web of material. During the process, a web of material is conveyed very rapidly adjacent to a nozzle of an adhesive applicator. A defecting device periodically deflects the web into contact with a surface of the nozzle. An adhesive flow control device is used to control the flow of adhesive through the nozzle. Adhesive flows through the nozzle and is timed with the deflection device. In one embodiment, the flow of adhesive is started prior to contact with the web. In this manner, treated discrete areas of the adhesive composition can be formed on the web. The treated discrete areas can have lengths that are minimized through the process of the present disclosure allowing for adhesive to be applied at extremely fast speeds.

Apparatuses for removing residue from a nozzle

An apparatus for removing a residue of a substance, extrudable through a nozzle of an automated end-effector, from an exterior of the nozzle is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a dispenser. The dispenser comprises a platform to support at least one cleaning pad. The dispenser further comprises a cage to maintain at least the one cleaning pad on the platform. The platform is movable relative to the cage. The apparatus also comprises a constricting device to circumferentially squeeze one of at least the one cleaning pad, adhesively picked up from the platform by the nozzle, around the nozzle once the nozzle is inserted into the constricting device. The apparatus additionally comprises a disposal receptacle to collect the one of at least the one cleaning pad, released from the constricting device.

ROTARY SOD CUTTING AND SPRINKLER CAP REMOVAL TOOL
20210120722 · 2021-04-29 ·

A combination sod cutting and sprinkler cap removal tool includes a socket having a cavity and outer surface extending between proximal and distal ends, a cutting means disposed circumferentially about the distal end, an internal gear formed within the cavity, and a removable rotating means insertable into the cavity and configured to rotatably engage and be axially arrested by the internal gear whether the rotating means is inserted through the proximal end or the distal end. Interior gear teeth of the internal gear have both inner and outer engagement surfaces. When inserted through the proximal end, the rotating means engages the outer engagement surfaces to configure the distal end of the tool for cutting sod by rotation of the cutting means. When the rotating means engages the internal gear through the distal end, the proximal end of the tool is configured for removing a sprinkler cap by engaging the inner engagement surfaces with gripping surfaces of the cap.

FLUID SPRAY SYSTEM

A fluid spray system for a compaction machine is provided. The fluid spray system includes at least one nozzle adapted to deliver a flow of fluid adjacent to a compaction member. The fluid spray system includes a fluid pump adapted to provide the flow of fluid to the at least one nozzle. The fluid spray system includes an operator interface configured to generate a signal indicative of activating a test mode based on an operator input. The fluid spray system includes a controller configured to receive the signal from the operator interface. The controller is also configured to activate the fluid pump for a predefined time period to provide the flow of fluid to the at least one nozzle. The controller is further configured to deactivate the fluid pump based on elapsing of the predefined time period to limit the flow of fluid to the at least one nozzle.
