Methods of delivery of encapsulated perfluorocarbon taggants
A system and method for tagging, tracking, locating and identifying people and vehicles transporting people using Perfluorocarbon tracers. An on-going problem faced by military as well as law enforcement personnel is that of friendly fire incidents. To prevent possible friendly-fire incidents, troops would separate the two layers of the uniform patch, thereby releasing a controlled release of the Perfluorocarbon vapors. Other “friendly” troops, equipped with sensors tuned to the specific perfluorocarbon characteristics would thus be able to literally view a plume around the tagged person or object. The system may conversely be used to tag enemies. Formulations of mixed perfluorocarbons may be used to provide coding of emissions.
Microfluidic delivery cartridge for use with a microfluidic delivery device
A cartridge that is releasably connectable with a housing of a microfluidic delivery device is provided. The cartridge has a reservoir for containing a fluid composition and a microfluidic die in fluid communication with the reservoir. The microfluidic die is configured to dispense substantially all of the fluid composition in a horizontal direction or downward direction relative to horizontal. The cartridge also includes an air flow channel disposed below the reservoir. The air flow channel extends from a fan to an air outlet. The air flow channel comprises a first region disposed adjacent to a fan, a second region disposed adjacent to the air outlet, and a third region joining the first and second regions. At least the second region is angled upward to the air outlet, relative to horizontal.
Electronic device for producing an aerosol for inhalation by a person
An electronic device for producing an aerosol for inhalation by a person includes a mouthpiece, a liquid container, and a mesh assembly having a mesh material and a piezoelectric material. The mesh material is in contact with a liquid of the container. The mesh material is configured to vibrate when the piezoelectric material is actuated, whereby the aerosol is produced. The aerosol may be inhaled through the mouthpiece. The device also includes circuitry and a power supply for actuating the mesh assembly. The mouthpiece, the container, and the mesh assembly are located in-line along a longitudinal axis of the device between opposite longitudinal ends of the device, with the mesh assembly extending between and separating the mouthpiece and the container. The mesh material has a rigidity that is sufficient to prevent oscillations of varying amplitudes during actuation of the piezoelectric material of the mesh assembly for consistently producing the aerosol.
ATOMIZING APPARATUS FOR FILM FORMATION AND FILM FORMING APPARATUS USING THE SAME
An atomizing apparatus for film formation enabling high-quality thin film formation with suppressed particle adhesion, including: a raw-material container accommodating a raw-material solution; a cylindrical member connecting inside the raw-material container to an outer unit, and disposed so a lower end of the cylindrical member does not touch a liquid surface of the raw-material solution in the container; an ultrasound generator having at least one source emitting ultrasound; and a liquid tank where the ultrasound propagates the raw-material solution through a middle solution. The generation source is outside the liquid tank and has a center between a plane extending from an inner side wall of the raw-material container and a plane extending from an outer side wall of the cylindrical member. A center line of an ultrasound-emitting surface of the ultrasound generation source is designated as u, wherein the center line u does not intersect the cylindrical member side wall.

Liquid material ejection device
A liquid material ejection device in which a plunger is efficiently accelerated. The device includes a liquid chamber communicating with an ejection port and being supplied with a liquid material, a plunger including a tip portion having a smaller diameter than the liquid chamber and is moved in the liquid chamber, an elastic member urging the plunger upward, an arm disposed in a state extending in a substantially horizontal direction, an arm driver serving as a driving source to operate the arm, and a base member on which the arm driver is disposed. The device further includes a rocking mechanism unit connected to the arm driver and rockingly supporting the arm, the arm driver includes a plurality of actuators, the arm includes a pressing portion pressing the plunger downward, the plunger is pressed by the pressing portion, and the plunger is linearly reciprocated with rocking motion of the arm.
Mist generator, film formation apparatus, and method of forming film using the film formation apparatus
A mist generator may include a reservoir storing a solution, a plurality of ultrasonic vibrators, a mist delivery path, and a mist collector. The plurality of ultrasonic vibrators may be disposed under the reservoir and configured to apply ultrasonic vibration to the solution stored in the reservoir to generate mist of the solution in the reservoir.
