Process and apparatus for treating the inner surface of a pipe
The coating device has a rotatable spindle which has fastening mechanisms for fastening a rotation axle to the spindle. Protrusions are radially protruding from the spindle for spreading the coating substance on the inner surface of a pipe. The protrusions have limiters that limit the coating substance to be spread to the desired layer thickness. The method comprises the steps of bringing, to the pipe to be treated, the coating device fastened to a rotation axle with the pipe, a feeding hose of the coating substance and a camera. The coating substance is fed along the feeding hose to a vicinity of the coating device. The coating substance is spread to an inner surface of the pipe by rotating the coating device and by moving the coating device in a longitudinal direction of the pipe.
System for producing a fully impregnated thermoplastic prepreg
According to one embodiment, a system for manufacturing a polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) prepreg includes a mechanism for continuously moving a fabric or mat and a resin application component that applies a methyl methacrylate (MMA) resin to the fabric or mat. The system also includes a press mechanism that presses the fabric or mat during the continuous movement subsequent to the application of the MMA resin to ensure that the MMA resin fully saturates the fabric or mat. The system further includes a curing oven through which the fabric or mat is continuously moved. The curing oven is maintained at a temperature of between 40 C. and 100 C. to polymerize the MMA resin and thereby form PMMA so that upon exiting the curing oven, the fabric or mat is fully impregnated with PMMA.
SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING A FULLY IMPREGNATED THERMOPLASTIC PREPREG
A thermoplastic prepreg includes a mat, web, or fabric of fibers and hollow glass microspheres that are positioned atop the mat, web, or fabric of fibers or dispersed therein. The thermoplastic prepreg also includes a thermoplastic polymer that is fully impregnated through the mat, web, or fabric of fibers and the hollow glass microspheres so that the thermoplastic prepreg has a void content of less than 3% by volume of the thermoplastic prepreg. The thermoplastic material is polymerized monomers and oligomers in which greater than 90% by weight of the monomers or oligomers react to form the thermoplastic material.

SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING A FULLY IMPREGNATED THERMOPLASTIC PREPREG
A system for manufacturing a thermoplastic prepreg includes a double belt mechanism that is configured to compress a fiber mat, web, or mesh that is passed through the double belt mechanism, a resin applicator that is configured to apply monomers or oligomers to the fiber mat, web, or mesh, and a curing oven that is configured to effect polymerization of the monomers or oligomers and thereby form the thermoplastic polymer as the fiber mat, web, or mesh is moved through the curing oven. The double belt mechanism compresses the fiber mat, web, or mesh and the applied monomers or oligomers as the fiber mat, web, or mesh is passed through the curing oven so that the monomers or oligomers fully saturate the fiber mat, web, or mesh. Upon polymerization of the monomers or oligomers, the fiber mat, web, or mesh is fully impregnated with the thermoplastic polymer.
Die with aligning mechanism, and manufacturing device and method for enameled wire
A die with alignment mechanism includes a die including a through-hole through which a traveling wire travels, a bearing member for rotationally moving the die in a circumferential direction of the traveling wire, and a movable member that moves the die so that a central axis of the through-hole is aligned with a travel direction of the traveling wire without inhibiting the rotational movement of the die produced by the bearing member when the travel direction changes in a direction orthogonal to the travel direction.

WIRE COATING TECHNIQUE
Disclosed herein is an apparatus for applying a coating material to a wire, the apparatus comprising: a coating chamber for applying a thermosetting coating material to a wire passing through the coating chamber; an elongate injection channel for receiving coating material input to the coating apparatus at a first end of the injection channel and supplying the received coating material to the coating chamber that is arranged at a second end of the injection channel; and, a number of heating elements controllable to progressively raise the temperature of the coating material as the coating material flows through the coating apparatus to achieve a desired viscosity of the coating material within the coating chamber. Advantages include providing an industrial process for applying a coating to a wire that is easier, safer and cheaper than known solvent based techniques.
RECIRCULATING POWDER APPLICATOR
A recirculating powder applicator includes an applicator body having an inlet on an upstream surface and an outlet on a downstream surface, wherein the inlet and outlet define a passage that extends transversely through the thickness of the applicator body, a powder conduit, an air inlet, an exhaust aperture located on one of the upstream or downstream surfaces, and a circulation chamber located on the interior of the applicator body. The powder conduit and air inlet are in fluid communication with the passage and the passage is in fluid communication with the circulation chamber. A method of applying powder to a substrate during a continuous process includes using a recirculating powder applicator.
